But turned back and acted treacherously like their fathers;
They turned aside like a treacherous bow.

I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

But his bow remained firm,
And his arms were agile,
From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob
(From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

“His arrows surround me.
Without mercy He splits my kidneys open;
He pours out my gall on the ground.

‘My glory is ever new with me,
And my bow is renewed in my hand.’

He bent His bow
And set me as a target for the arrow.

On that day I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.”

Your bow was made bare,
The rods of chastisement were sworn. Selah.
You cleaved the earth with rivers.


And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.

Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying, "Now behold, I Myself do establish My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you; and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, even every beast of the earth. read more.
"I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall never again be cut off by the water of the flood, neither shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth." God said, "This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations; I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. "It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh. "When the bow is in the cloud, then I will look upon it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." And God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth."

As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.

I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire;


“He may flee from the iron weapon,
But the bronze bow will pierce him.

He trains my hands for battle,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

He trains my hands for battle,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.


I will strike your bow from your left hand and dash down your arrows from your right hand.

And their bows will mow down the young men,
They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb,
Nor will their eye pity children.

He has bent His bow like an enemy;
He has set His right hand like an adversary
And slain all that were pleasant to the eye;
In the tent of the daughter of Zion
He has poured out His wrath like fire.


God was with the lad, and he grew; and he lived in the wilderness and became an archer.

Then she went and sat down opposite him, about a bowshot away, for she said, “Do not let me see the boy die.” And she sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice and wept.


“Thus says the Lord of hosts,
‘Behold, I am going to break the bow of Elam,
The finest of their might.


and he told them to teach the sons of Judah the song of the bow; behold, it is written in the book of Jashar.


“Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears, and for seven years they will make fires of them.
