He plans wickedness upon his bed;
He sets himself on a path that is not good;
He does not despise evil.

One who plans to do evil,
Men will call a schemer.

But they will say, ‘It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.’



Will they not go astray who devise evil?
But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.

He who winks his eyes does so to devise perverse things;
He who compresses his lips brings evil to pass.

As for a rogue, his weapons are evil;
He devises wicked schemes
To destroy the afflicted with slander,
Even though the needy one speaks what is right.

He said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and give evil advice in this city,


A man of violence entices his neighbor And leads him in a way that is not good. He who winks his eyes does so to devise perverse things; He who compresses his lips brings evil to pass.


Discretion will guard you, Understanding will watch over you, To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things; From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness; read more.

It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness;
I saw your forefathers as the earliest fruit on the fig tree in its first season.
But they came to Baal-peor and devoted themselves to shame,
And they became as detestable as that which they loved.

For they eat the bread of wickedness
And drink the wine of violence.

Concerning evil, both hands do it well.
The prince asks, also the judge, for a bribe,
And a great man speaks the desire of his soul;
So they weave it together.


in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison, who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.

Like a dog that returns to its vomit
Is a fool who repeats his folly.

How much less one who is detestable and corrupt,
Man, who drinks iniquity like water!

Thus says the Lord to this people, “Even so they have loved to wander; they have not kept their feet in check. Therefore the Lord does not accept them; now He will remember their iniquity and call their sins to account.”

And so is wisdom to a man of understanding.

because they rejected My ordinances, and as for My statutes, they did not walk in them; they even profaned My sabbaths, for their heart continually went after their idols.

They feed on the sin of My people
And direct their desire toward their iniquity.
