Why is light given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in? For my sighing comes before I eat. My groanings are poured out like water. David said to Saul, "Let no man's heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight with this Philistine."
He won't break a bruised reed. He won't quench a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully bring justice. He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice in the earth, and the islands will wait for his law."

Yahweh, in trouble they have visited you. They poured out a prayer when your chastening was on them.
Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! My heart is faint within me. Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: isn't Yahweh in Zion? Isn't her King in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their engraved images, and with foreign vanities?
A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall; But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."
But now it is come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.
Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
Where are we going up? our brothers have made our heart to melt, saying, 'The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to the sky; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.'"
Why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which Yahweh has given them?
because he didn't remember to show kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, the broken in heart, to kill them.
"Therefore my judgment is that we don't trouble those from among the Gentiles who turn to God,
Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged.
Remember those who are in bonds, as bound with them; and those who are ill-treated, since you are also in the body.
"To him who is ready to faint, kindness should be shown from his friend; even to him who forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt: I mourn; dismay has taken hold on me.
Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
