Who told of this from the beginning, so we could know, or beforehand, so we could ask, "Is it right?' Indeed, no one told of this, no one made an announcement, and no one heard your words:
The past events have indeed happened.Now I declare new events;I announce them to you before they occur.”
Yahweh goes forth like a mighty warrior; he stirs up zeal like a man of war. He raises the war cry, indeed he raises the battle shout; he prevails against his foes.
everyone called by My nameand created for My glory.I have formed him; indeed, I have made him.”
Indeed, from [this] day I [am] the one, and no one can deliver from my hand. I perform, and who can {cancel it}?"
Look, I am about to do something new;even now it is coming. Do you not see it?Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness,rivers in the desert.
"And yet you didn't call upon me, Jacob; indeed, you are tired of me, Israel!
Don't fear, neither be afraid. Haven't I declared it to you long ago, and shown it? You are my witnesses. Is there a God besides me? Indeed, there is not. I don't know any other Rock."
[The] {ironsmith} works in the coals [with his] tool and forms it with hammers. And he makes it with {his strong arm}; indeed, he becomes hungry, and {he lacks} strength; he does not drink water, and he is faint.
This is what the Lord says:The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cushand the Sabeans, men of stature,will come over to youand will be yours;they will follow you,they will come over in chainsand bow down to you.They will confess to you:God is indeed with you, and there is no other;there is no other God.
All of them will be put to shame indeed, disgraced! The makers of idols will go off in disgrace together.
“Declare and set forth your case;Indeed, let them consult together.Who has announced this from of old?Who has long since declared it?Is it not I, the Lord?And there is no other God besides Me,A righteous God and a Savior;There is none except Me.
“Those who lavish gold from the purseAnd weigh silver on the scaleHire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god;They bow down, indeed they worship it.
I am calling a bird of prey from the east, and from a far country a man with his purpose. Indeed, I've spoken; I will certainly make it happen; I've planned it; and I will certainly carry it out.
"Fall down! Sit in the dirt, O virgin daughter Babylon! Sit on the ground, not on a throne, O daughter of the Babylonians! Indeed, you will no longer be called delicate and pampered.
Your nakedness shall be exposed; indeed, your shame shall become visible. I will take vengeance and I will not {spare} a person.
"Sit silently! Go to a hiding place, O daughter of the Babylonians! Indeed, you will no longer be called 'Queen of kingdoms.'
Indeed, they live in the holy city; they trust in the God of Israel, whose name is the Lord who commands armies.
And neither had you heard, nor did you understand, nor did you open your ear long ago. Indeed, I knew that you would act very deceitfully, and they would call you a rebel from birth.
I will act for My own sake, indeed, My own,for how can I be defiled?I will not give My glory to another.
Indeed, my hand founded [the] earth, and my right hand spread out [the] heavens; [when] I summon them, they stand in position together.
I Yes, I! have spoken; indeed, I've called and I've brought him, and he will make his path successful.
Can a woman forget her suckling, [refrain] from having compassion on the child of her womb? Indeed, these may forget, but I, I will not forget you!
Lift up thine eyes round about and behold: they all gather themselves together, they come to thee. As I live, saith Jehovah, thou shalt indeed clothe thee with them all as with an ornament, and bind them on as a bride doth.
For your waste and desolate placesand your land marked by ruins—will now be indeed too small for the inhabitants,and those who swallowed you up will be far away.
Indeed," says the Lord, "captives will be taken from a warrior; spoils will be rescued from a conqueror. I will oppose your adversary and I will rescue your children.
In truth, the Lord God will help Me;who will condemn Me?Indeed, all of them will wear out like a garment;a moth will devour them.
Indeed, the Lord will comfort Zion;He will comfort all her waste places.And her wilderness He will make like Eden,And her desert like the garden of the Lord;Joy and gladness will be found in her,Thanksgiving and sound of a melody.
And now, what do we have here?" says the Lord. "Indeed my people have been carried away for nothing, those who rule over them taunt," says the Lord, "and my name is constantly slandered all day long.
He was led away after an unjust trial -- but who even cared? Indeed, he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the rebellion of his own people he was wounded.
"Indeed, the Lord will call you back like a wife who has been abandoned and suffers from depression, like a young wife when she has been rejected," says your God.
You will be reestablished when I vindicate you. You will not experience oppression; indeed, you will not be afraid. You will not be terrified, for nothing frightening will come near you.
If indeed one attacks, [it is] not from me; whoever attacks you shall fall because of you.
"Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds,
You will indeed go out with joyand be peacefully guided;the mountains and the hills will break into singing before you,and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
"Come, let me take wine, and let us carouse [with] intoxicating drink, and tomorrow will be like today, {very great indeed}."
Your portion is among the smooth stones of the wadi;indeed, they are your lot.You have even poured out a drink offering to them;you have offered a grain offering;should I be satisfied with these?
You have set your bed upon a high and lofty mountain; indeed, you went up there to slaughter sacrifice.
“Behind the door and the doorpostYou have set up your sign;Indeed, far removed from Me, you have uncovered yourself,And have gone up and made your bed wide.And you have made an agreement for yourself with them,You have loved their bed,You have looked on their manhood.
Indeed, the Lord’s hand is not too short to save,and His ear is not too deaf to hear.
For you are aware of our many rebellious deeds, and our sins testify against us; indeed, we are aware of our rebellious deeds; we know our sins all too well.
Justice is driven back; godliness stands far off. Indeed, honesty stumbles in the city square and morality is not even able to enter.
Indeed, the coastlands look eagerly for me, the large ships are in the lead, bringing your sons from far away, along with their silver and gold, to honor the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has bestowed honor on you.
Indeed, nations or kingdoms that do not serve you will perish; such nations will be totally destroyed.
You will no longer be called, "Abandoned," and your land will no longer be called "Desolate." Indeed, you will be called "My Delight is in Her," and your land "Married." For the Lord will take delight in you, and your land will be married to him.
Jehovah hath sworn by his right hand and by the arm of his strength, I will indeed no more give thy corn to be food for thine enemies; and the sons of the alien shall not drink thy new wine, for which thou hast laboured;
He said, “They are indeed My people,children who will not be disloyal,”and He became their Savior.
Watch out! It stands written before me: "I won't keep silent, but I will pay back in full; I'll indeed repay into their laps
In her, a nursing infant will no longer liveonly a few days,or an old man not live out his days.Indeed, the youth will die at a hundred years,and the one who misses a hundred years will be cursed.
The one who slaughters bull strikes a man; the one who slaughters lamb for sacrifice breaks the neck [of] a dog. The one who offers an offering, [the] blood of swine; the one who offers frankincense blesses an idol. Indeed, they themselves have chosen their ways, and their soul delights in their abhorrence.
Indeed, I myself I will choose their ill treatment, and I will bring them objects of their dread, because I called, and {no one answered}; I spoke and they did not listen, but they did the evil in my eyes, and they chose that in which I do not delight."
Who has heard [anything] like this? Who has seen [anything] like these [things]? Can a land be born in one day? Or can a nation be born in a moment? [Yet] when she was in labor, Zion indeed gave birth [to] her children.
And indeed, I will take some of them as priests [and] the Levites," says Yahweh.
"Indeed, go over to the coasts of Cyprus and see, send to Kedar and pay very close attention. See if there has ever been such a thing as this!
"Indeed, my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living water, and they have dug cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that cannot hold water."
"Indeed, long ago you threw off my authority and refused to be subject to me. You said, 'I will not serve you.' Instead, you gave yourself to other gods on every high hill and under every green tree, like a prostitute sprawls out before her lovers.
And thou sayest, Indeed I am innocent; his anger will turn from me. Behold, I will enter into judgment with thee because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
Thou shalt indeed go forth from her with thy hands upon thy head; for Jehovah hath rejected those thou confidest in, and thou shalt not prosper by them.
"A noise is heard on the hilltops. It is the sound of the people of Israel crying and pleading to their gods. Indeed they have followed sinful ways; they have forgotten to be true to the Lord their God.
"Your lifestyles and your actions have brought these things on you. This is your calamity it is indeed bitter, for it has reached your heart!"
"Indeed, there are wicked scoundrels among my people. They lie in wait like bird catchers hiding in ambush. They set deadly traps to catch people.
I answered, "Who would listen if I spoke to them and warned them? Their ears are so closed that they cannot hear! Indeed, what the Lord says is offensive to them. They do not like it at all.
I'm full of the wrath of the LORD, and I'm tired of holding it back. Pour it out on the children in the street and on the groups of young men gathered together. Indeed, both husband and wife will be caught in it, the old and the very old.
"Indeed, from the least important to the most important, they're all greedy for dishonest gain. From prophet to priest, they all act deceitfully.
"Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat the meat. Indeed, when I brought your ancestors out of the land of Egypt, I didn't speak or command them about burnt offering and sacrifice,
They have also built places of worship in a place called Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom so that they can sacrifice their sons and daughters by fire. That is something I never commanded them to do! Indeed, it never even entered my mind to command such a thing!
Therefore, I'll give their wives to others, and their fields to new owners. Indeed, from the least important to the most important, they're all greedy for dishonest gain. From prophet to priest, they all act deceitfully.
Indeed, I am about to send snakes among you,poisonous vipers that cannot be charmed.They will bite you.This is the Lord’s declaration.
The Lord says, "These people are like soldiers who have readied their bows. Their tongues are always ready to shoot out lies. They have become powerful in the land, but they have not done so by honest means. Indeed, they do one evil thing after another and do not pay attention to me.
This is what the LORD of the Heavenly Armies says: "Think about what I'm saying! Indeed, call out the professional mourners! Send for the best of them to come.
I said, "Indeed, let them come quickly and sing a song of mourning for us. Let them wail loudly until tears stream from our own eyes and our eyelids overflow with water.
Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, all those who live in the desert and shave the corners of their beard; indeed all the other nations that are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel that is uncircumcised of heart."
For the practices of the people are worthless. Indeed, a tree is cut down from the forest; it's the work of the hands of a craftsman with an ax.
They [are] like scarecrows in a cucumber field, they cannot speak. Indeed, they must be carried, for they cannot march. You must not be afraid of them, for they cannot do evil; furthermore, to do good [is] not in them."
Who wouldn't fear you, king of the nations? This is what you deserve! Indeed, among all the wise men of the nations, and throughout all their kingdoms, there is no one like you!
Your gods are indeed as numerous as your cities, Judah, and the altars you have set up to Shame—altars to burn incense to Baal—as numerous as the streets of Jerusalem.
Righteous are You, O Lord, that I would plead my case with You;Indeed I would discuss matters of justice with You:Why has the way of the wicked prospered?Why are all those who deal in treachery at ease?
Indeed, if you run with others on foot, and they tire you out, how can you compete with horses? You are secure in a land at peace, but how will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?
Indeed, even your brothers and your father's family conspire against you. Even they cry out after you loudly. Don't believe them, even though they speak friendly words to you.
On all the barren heights in the desert destroyers will come. Indeed, a sword of the LORD will devour from one end of the land to the other. There will be no peace for any person.
Though our guilt testifies against us,Yahweh, act for Your name’s sake.Indeed, our rebellions are many;we have sinned against You.
Why should you be like someone who is helpless, like a champion who cannot save anyone? You are indeed with us, and we belong to you. Do not abandon us!"
If I go out into the field, I see those slain by the sword! If I go into the city, I see the ravages of the famine! Indeed, both prophet and priest ply their trade in the land, but they don't know anything.'"
We acknowledge our wickedness, Lord,the guilt of our fathers;indeed, we have sinned against You.
“Indeed, who will have pity on you, O Jerusalem,Or who will mourn for you,Or who will turn aside to ask about your welfare?
Why has my pain been perpetualAnd my wound incurable, refusing to be healed?Will You indeed be to me like a deceptive streamWith water that is unreliable?
Then you will answer them: Because your fathers abandoned Me”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“and followed other gods, served them, and worshiped them. Indeed, they abandoned Me and did not keep My instruction.
The man who trusts in the Lord,whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed.
They have built places here for worship of the god Baal so that they could sacrifice their children as burnt offerings to him in the fire. Such sacrifices are something I never commanded them to make! They are something I never told them to do! Indeed, such a thing never even entered my mind!
I will give away all the wealth of this city, all its products and valuables. Indeed, I will hand all the treasures of the kings of Judah over to their enemies. They will plunder them, seize them, and carry them off to Babylon.
Indeed, as often as I speak, I cry out, and shout, "Violence and destruction!" For this message from the LORD has caused me constant reproach and derision.
Indeed, I hear many people whispering, "Terror on every side. Denounce him, let's denounce him!" All my close friends watch my steps and say, "Perhaps he will be deceived, and we can prevail against him and take vengeance on him."
Indeed, I'm firmly decided I'm sending calamity to this city, not good," declares the LORD. "It will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will set it on fire."'
For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
I spoke to you when you were secure.You said, “I will not listen.”This has been your way since youth;indeed, you have never listened to Me.
The wind will shepherd all your shepherds, and your lovers will go into exile. Indeed, you will then be ashamed and humiliated because of all your wickedness.
The Lord says, "As surely as I am the living God, you, Jeconiah, king of Judah, son of Jehoiakim, will not be the earthly representative of my authority. Indeed, I will take that right away from you.
Indeed, the land is full of adulterers. Indeed, the land mourns because of the curse; the pastures of the wilderness have dried up. The adulterers' lifestyles are evil, and they use their strength for what is not right.
Indeed, both priest and prophet are ungodly. Even in my house I find evil," declares the LORD.
“Now when this people or a prophet or a priest asks you [in jest], ‘What is the oracle of the Lord [the burden to be lifted up and carried]?’ Then you shall say to them, ‘What oracle [besides the one that declares you people to be the burden]!’ The Lord says, ‘I will unburden Myself and I will abandon you.’
