May the one who comes in the name of the Lord be blessed! We will pronounce blessings on you in the Lord's temple.
Oh, that my ways were steadfast, so I may keep your statutes.
How may a young man make his way clean? by guiding it after your word.
I have treasured Your word in my heartso that I may not sin against You.
Lord, may You be praised;teach me Your statutes.
GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
Make me understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful things.
Give me understanding, that I may observe Your lawAnd keep it with all my heart.
Fulfill your promise to your servant, that you may be feared.
May your gracious love come to me, LORD, your salvation, just as you said.
So that I may have an answer for the man who would put me to shame; for I have faith in your word.
So that I may keep your law for ever and ever;
So that my way may be in a wide place: because my search has been for your orders.
So that I may give knowledge of your unchanging word before kings, and not be put to shame.
And so that I may take delight in your teachings, to which I have given my love.
And so that my hands may be stretched out to you; and I will give thought to your rules.
It is good for me that I was afflicted,That I may learn Your statutes.
JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
May those who fear you see me and be glad, for I have hoped in your word.
May Your faithful love comfort meas You promised Your servant.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
May the arrogant become ashamed, because they have subverted me with deceit; as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.
May those who fear you turn to me, along with those who know your decrees.
May my heart be blameless regarding Your statutesso that I will not be put to shame.
Revive me according to Your lovingkindness,So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.
I keep away from every evil choice so that I may keep your word.
Depart from me, you evil ones,so that I may obey my God’s commands.
Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
Support me, that I may be saved, and I will carry out your statutes consistently.
I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.
Redeem me from the oppression of man,That I may keep Your precepts.
Though I may be small and despised, I do not neglect your precepts.
Your testimonies are righteous forever;Give me understanding that I may live.
I have called out to you, "Save me, so I may keep your decrees."
I look forward to the night watches, when I may meditate on what you have said.
May my cry arise before you, LORD; give me understanding according to your word.
May my lips utter praise, for you teach me your statutes.
May my tongue sing about your promise, for all of your commands are right.
May Your hand be ready to help me,for I have chosen Your precepts.
Let me live, and I will praise You;may Your judgments help me.
May he not allow your foot to slip! May your protector not sleep!
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:“May those who love you prosper;
may there be peace within your walls, prosperity within your fortresses.”
For the sake of my relatives and friends I will now say, "May there be peace within you."
{A Song of degrees of David.} If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
Those whose hope is in the Lord are like the mountain of Zion, which may not be moved, but keeps its place for ever.
For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous,So that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong.
As for those who are bent on traveling a sinful path, may the Lord remove them, along with those who behave wickedly! May Israel experience peace!
May the Lord bless you from Zion,so that you will see the prosperity of Jerusalemall the days of your life
And may you see your children's children! Peace be on Israel! A Song of Ascents
{A Song of degrees.} Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
May all who hate ZionBe put to shame and turned backward;
May they become like a tuft of grass on a roof top, that withers before it takes root
Then none who pass by will say,“May the Lord’s blessing be on you.”We bless you in the name of Yahweh.
But with You there is forgiveness,so that You may be revered.
May Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and may Your godly people shout for joy.
May the Lord,Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.
May the Lord be praised from Zion;He dwells in Jerusalem.Hallelujah!
How may we give the Lord's song in a strange land?
If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill.
May my tongue stick to the roof of my mouthif I do not remember you,if I do not exalt Jerusalem as my greatest joy!
Such knowledge is a wonder greater than my powers; it is so high that I may not come near it.
Where may I go from your spirit? how may I go in flight from you?
The men of pride have put secret cords for my feet; stretching nets in my way, so that they may take me with their tricks. (Selah.)
O Lord, give not the wrongdoer his desire; give him no help in his evil designs, or he may be uplifted in pride. (Selah.)
May those who surround me discover that the trouble they talk about falls on their own head!
May burning coals fall on them; may they be cast into fire, and into miry pits, never to rise again.
Let not the slanderer become established in the land. May evil quickly hunt down the violent man.
May my prayer be set before You as incense, the raising of my hands as the evening offering.
May the godly strike me in love and correct me! May my head not refuse choice oil! Indeed, my prayer is a witness against their evil deeds.
Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
May I hear about your loyal love in the morning, for I trust in you. Show me the way I should go, because I long for you.
Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God.May Your gracious Spiritlead me on level ground.
Davidic.May the Lord, my rock, be praised, who trains my hands for battleand my fingers for warfare.
Bow Your heavens, O Lord, and come down;Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
He has put them in their places for ever; he has given them their limits which may not be broken.
May Israel rejoice in its Maker, and Zion's descendants in their King!
May they praise his name with dancing, chanting songs to him with tambourines and lyres.
May those he loves be exalted, singing for joy on their couches.
May they praise God while they hold a two-edged sword in their hand,
To know [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction; To discern and comprehend the words of understanding and insight,
That prudence (good judgment, astute common sense) may be given to the naive or inexperienced [who are easily misled],And knowledge and discretion (intelligent discernment) to the youth,
That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; And that the man of understanding may attain unto sound counsels:
To understand a proverb and a figure [of speech] or an enigma with its interpretation,And the words of the wise and their riddles [that require reflection].
My child, may you keep your father's instruction, and do not reject your mother's teachings,
May you turn to my argument! Behold, I shall pour out my spirit upon you; I will make my words known to you.
so that He may guard the paths of justiceand protect the way of His loyal followers.
So you will walk in the way of good men [that is, those of personal integrity, moral courage and honorable character],And keep to the paths of the righteous.
My child, do not forget my instruction, and may your heart guard my commands.
May loyal love and truth not forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them upon your heart.
She is of more value than jewels, and nothing for which you may have a desire is fair in comparison with her.
My child, may they not escape from your {sight}; may you keep sound wisdom and prudence.
Listen, my sons, to a father’s discipline, and pay attention so that you may gain understanding,
he taught me and said to me, "May your heart hold fast [to] my words; guard my commandments and live.
May they not escape from your {sight}; keep them in [the] midst of your heart.
May your eyes look forward and your gaze be straight before you.
