'Remote' in the Bible

Now it came about in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite staying in the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, who took a concubine for himself from Bethlehem in Judah.

He said to him, “We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, for I am from there, and I went to Bethlehem in Judah. But I am now going to my house, and no man will take me into his house.

but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and will bring them to the place where I have chosen to cause My name to dwell.’

What has been is remote and exceedingly mysterious. Who can discover it?

“Be broken, O peoples, and be shattered;And give ear, all remote places of the earth.Gird yourselves, yet be shattered;Gird yourselves, yet be shattered.

Behold, the name of the Lord comes from a remote place;Burning is His anger and dense is His smoke;His lips are filled with indignationAnd His tongue is like a consuming fire;

Thus says the Lord,“Behold, a people is coming from the north land,And a great nation will be aroused from the remote parts of the earth.

“Behold, I am bringing them from the north country,And I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth,Among them the blind and the lame,The woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together;A great company, they will return here.

“Behold, a people is coming from the north,And a great nation and many kingsWill be aroused from the remote parts of the earth.

Gomer with all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all its troops—many peoples with you.

You will come from your place out of the remote parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and a mighty army;
