'Song' in the Bible

Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord. They said:I will sing to the Lord,for He is highly exalted;He has thrown the horseand its rider into the sea.

The Lord is my strength and my song;He has become my salvation.This is my God, and I will praise Him,my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

Then Israel sang this song:Spring up, well—sing to it!

Therefore write down this song for yourselves and teach it to the Israelites; have them recite it, so that this song may be a witness for Me against the Israelites.

And when many troubles and afflictions come to them, this song will testify against them, because their descendants will not have forgotten it. For I know what they are prone to do, even before I bring them into the land I swore to give them.”

Then Moses recited aloud every single word of this song to the entire assembly of Israel:

Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and recited all the words of this song in the presence of the people.

“Awake! Awake, Deborah!Awake! Awake, sing a song!Arise, Barak,and take hold of your captives,son of Abinoam!”

Saul was furious and resented this song. “They credited tens of thousands to David,” he complained, “but they only credited me with thousands. What more can he have but the kingdom?”

and he ordered that the Judahites be taught The Song of the Bow. It is written in the Book of Jashar:

David spoke the words of this song to the Lord on the day the Lord rescued him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

They ministered with song in front of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, until Solomon built the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem, and they performed their task according to the regulations given to them.

The whole assembly was worshiping, singing the song, and blowing the trumpets—all of this continued until the burnt offering was completed.

Lift up a song—play the tambourine,the melodious lyre, and the harp.

like heat in a dry land,You subdue the uproar of barbarians.As the shade of a cloud cools the heat of the day,so He silences the song of the violent.

On that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:We have a strong city.Salvation is established as walls and ramparts.

Sing a new song to the Lord;sing His praise from the ends of the earth,you who go down to the sea with all that fills it,you islands with your inhabitants.

For the Lord will comfort Zion;He will comfort all her waste places,and He will make her wilderness like Eden,and her desert like the garden of the Lord.Joy and gladness will be found in her,thanksgiving and melodious song.

“Rejoice, childless one, who did not give birth;burst into song and shout,you who have not been in labor!For the children of the forsaken one will be morethan the children of the married woman,”says the Lord.

The Lord of Hosts has sworn by Himself:I will fill you up with men as with locusts,and they will sing the victory song over you.

They sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders, but no one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
