'Suffer' in the Bible
Then the Lord replied to him, “In that case, whoever kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” And He placed a mark on Cain so that whoever found him would not kill him.
If these men die naturally as all people would, and suffer the fate of all, then the Lord has not sent me.

explaining and showing that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead: “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah.”

So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is experienced in your endurance of the same sufferings that we suffer.
Did you suffer so much for nothing—if in fact it was for nothing?

I suffer for it to the point of being bound like a criminal, but God’s message is not bound.

For what credit is there if you sin and are punished, and you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it, this brings favor with God.
But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear or be disturbed,
For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.
None of you, however, should suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or a meddler.
So those who suffer according to God’s will should, while doing what is good, entrust themselves to a faithful Creator.
Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will have affliction for 10 days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
