'Swifter' in the Bible
“Saul and Jonathan, beloved and lovely and friends in their lives,And in their death they were not separated;They were swifter than eagles,They were stronger than lions.
“My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle,And are spent without hope.
“Now my days are swifter than a runner;They vanish, they see no good.
“Behold, the enemy comes up like clouds,His chariots like the whirlwind;His horses are swifter than eagles.Woe (judgment is coming) to us, for we are ruined!”
Our pursuers were swifterThan the eagles of the sky;They pursued us on the mountains,They waited in ambush for us in the wilderness.
“Their horses are swifter than leopardsAnd keener than [hungry] wolves in the evening,Their horsemen come galloping,Their horsemen come from far away;They fly like an eagle swooping down to devour.
