Order At The Lord's Supper

²¹ You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot share in the Lord’s table and the table of demons. ²² Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? ²³ “Everything is permissible,” but not everything is helpful. “Everything is permissible,” but not everything builds up.

To the Lord

Deuteronomy 32:21

They have provoked My jealousy
with their so-called gods;
they have enraged Me with their worthless idols.
So I will provoke their jealousy
with an inferior people;
I will enrage them with a foolish nation.

Deuteronomy 32:16

They provoked His jealousy with foreign gods;
they enraged Him with detestable practices.

Ecclesiastes 6:10

Whatever exists was given its name long ago, and it is known what man is. But he is not able to contend with the One stronger than he.

Ezekiel 22:14

Will your courage endure or your hands be strong in the days when I deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken, and I will act.

Exodus 20:5

You must not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the fathers’ sin, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

Exodus 34:14

You are never to bow down to another god because Yahweh, being jealous by nature, is a jealous God.

Hebrews 10:31

It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
