Josiah Observes The Passover

¹⁰ So the service was prepared, and the priests stood at their stations and the Levites by their divisions according to the king’s command. ¹¹ They slaughtered the Passover animals, and while the priests sprinkled the blood received from their hand, the Levites skinned them. ¹² Then they removed the burnt offerings that they might give them to the sections of the fathers’ households of the lay people to present to the Lord, as it is written in the book of Moses. They did this also with the bulls.

2 Chronicles 29:34

But the priests were too few, so that they were unable to skin all the burnt offerings; therefore their brothers the Levites helped them until the work was completed and until the other priests had consecrated themselves. For the Levites were more conscientious to consecrate themselves than the priests.

Leviticus 1:5-6

He shall slay the young bull before the Lord; and Aaron’s sons the priests shall offer up the blood and sprinkle the blood around on the altar that is at the doorway of the tent of meeting.

Numbers 18:3

And they shall thus attend to your obligation and the obligation of all the tent, but they shall not come near to the furnishings of the sanctuary and the altar, or both they and you will die.

Numbers 18:7

But you and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything concerning the altar and inside the veil, and you are to perform service. I am giving you the priesthood as a bestowed service, but the outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”

2 Chronicles 29:22-24

So they slaughtered the bulls, and the priests took the blood and sprinkled it on the altar. They also slaughtered the rams and sprinkled the blood on the altar; they slaughtered the lambs also and sprinkled the blood on the altar.

2 Chronicles 30:16

They stood at their stations after their custom, according to the law of Moses the man of God; the priests sprinkled the blood which they received from the hand of the Levites.

Hebrews 9:21-22

And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood.
