Jehu Continues Purging The House Of Ahab

¹² Then he arose and departed and went to Samaria. On the way while he was at Beth-eked of the shepherds, ¹³ Jehu met the relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah and said, “Who are you?” And they answered, “We are the relatives of Ahaziah; and we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother.” ¹⁴ He said, “Take them alive.” So they took them alive and killed them at the pit of Beth-eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.

So King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. Then Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel because he was sick.

2 Kings 8:24

So Joram slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son became king in his place.
