Now a Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures.

It happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples.

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus so that he would not have to spend time in

Asia; for he was hurrying to be in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.

But I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost;

by the will of God,

To the

saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus:

As I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines,

the Lord grant to him to find mercy from the Lord on that day—and you know very well what services he rendered at Ephesus.

But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.

And he was reasoning in the synagogue every Sabbath and trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.

And according to Paul’s custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,
