Colossians 1

² To the ^(c)(E)saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colossae: ^(F)Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

² To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

² To the saints in Christ at Colossae, who are faithful brothers.Grace to you and peace from God our Father.^(b)

² To: The holy and faithful brothers in Colossae who are in union with the Messiah. May grace and peace from God our Father be yours!

² To the ^(a)saints and faithful ^(b)believers in Christ [who are] at Colossae: Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father.

^{4 (I)}since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the ^(J)love which you have ^(d)for ^(K)all the ^(e)saints;

⁴ Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

⁴ for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints

⁴ because we have heard about your faith in the Messiah Jesus and the love that you have for all the saints,

⁴ for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [how you lean on Him with absolute confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness], and of the [unselfish] ^(c)love which you have for all the saints (God’s people);

⁶ which has come to you, just as ^(h)(O)in all the world also it is constantly bearing ^(P)fruit and ⁽ⁱ⁾increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you ^(Q)heard of it and ^(j)understood the grace of God in truth;

⁶ Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

⁶ that has come to you. It is bearing fruit^(D) and growing all over the world,^(E) just as it has among you since the day you heard it and recognized God’s grace^(F) in the truth.^(c)(G)

⁶ that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit and spreading all over the world, so it has been doing among you from the day you heard it and came to know the grace of God in truth.

⁶ which has come to you. Indeed, just as in the whole world the gospel is constantly bearing fruit and spreading [by God’s power], just as it has been doing among you ever since the day you first heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth [becoming thoroughly and deeply acquainted with it].

⁸ and he also informed us of your ^(T)love in the Spirit.

⁸ Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

⁸ and he has told us about your love in the Spirit.^(J)

⁸ He has told us about your love in the Spirit.

⁸ and he also has told us of your love [well-grounded and nurtured] in the [Holy] Spirit.

¹⁰ so that you will ^(Y)walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, ^(l)(Z)to please Him in all respects, ^(AA)bearing fruit in every good work and ^(m)increasing in the ⁽ⁿ⁾knowledge of God;

¹⁰ That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

¹⁰ so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work^(N) and growing in the knowledge of God.^(O)

¹⁰ so that you might live in a manner worthy of the Lord and be fully pleasing to him as you bear fruit while doing all kinds of good things and growing in the full knowledge of God.

¹⁰ so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts];

¹² giving thanks to ^(AD)the Father, who has qualified us ^(r)to share in ^(AE)the inheritance of the ^(s)saints in ^(AF)Light.

¹² Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

¹² giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you^(f) to share in the saints’^(g) inheritance in the light.^(S)

¹² and might thank the Father, who has enabled us to share in the saints' inheritance in the light.

¹² giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light.

^{14 (AI)}in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

¹⁴ In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

¹⁴ We have redemption,^(h) the forgiveness of sins, in Him.

¹⁴ through whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

¹⁴ in whom we have redemption [because of His sacrifice, resulting in] the forgiveness of our sins [and the cancellation of sins’ penalty].

¹⁶ For ^(x)(AM)by Him all things were created, ^(AN)both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether ^(AO)thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—^(AP)all things have been created through Him and for Him.

¹⁶ For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

¹⁶ For everything was created by Him,^(Z)in heaven and on earth,the visible and the invisible,whether thrones or dominionsor rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.^(AA)

¹⁶ For by him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether they are kings, lords, rulers, or powers. All things have been created through him and for him.

¹⁶ For ^(d)by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, [things] visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [that is, by His activity] and for Him.

¹⁸ He is also ^(AR)head of ^(AS)the body, the church; and He is ^(AT)the beginning, ^(AU)the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

²⁰ and through Him to ^(AX)reconcile all things to Himself, having made ^(AY)peace through ^(AZ)the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, ^(BA)whether things on earth or things in ^(ac)heaven.

²⁰ And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

²⁰ and through Him to reconcileeverything to Himselfby making peace^(AH)through the blood^(AI) of His cross^(j)(AJ)—whether things on earth or things in heaven.

²⁰ Through the Son, God also reconciled all things to himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, thereby making peace through the blood of his cross.

²⁰ and through [the intervention of] the Son to reconcile all things to Himself, making peace [with believers] through the blood of His cross; through Him, [I say,] whether things on earth or things in heaven.

²² yet He has now ^(BC)reconciled you in His fleshly ^(BD)body through death, in order to ^(BE)present you before Him ^(BF)holy and blameless and beyond reproach—

²² In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

²² But now He has reconciled you by His physical body^(k) through His death,^(AK) to present you holy, faultless,^(AL) and blameless before Him^(AM)—

²² he has now reconciled by the death of his physical body, so that he may present you holy, blameless, and without fault before him.

²² yet Christ has now reconciled you [to God] in His ^(g)physical body through death, in order to present you before the Father holy and blameless and beyond reproach—

^{24 (BL)}Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh ^(BM)I ^(ag)do my share on behalf of ^(BN)His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking ^(ah)in Christ’s afflictions.

²⁴ Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

²⁴ Now I rejoice in my sufferings^(AS) for you, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for His body,^(AT) that is, the church.

²⁴ Now I am rejoicing while suffering for you as I complete in my flesh whatever remains of the Messiah's sufferings on behalf of his body, which is the church.

²⁴ Now I rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf. And with my own body I ⁽ⁱ⁾supplement whatever is lacking [on our part] of Christ’s afflictions, on behalf of His body, which is the church.

²⁶ that is, ^(BQ)the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His ^(ak)saints,

²⁶ Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

²⁶ the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to His saints.

²⁶ This secret was hidden throughout the ages and generations but has now been revealed to his saints,

²⁶ that is, ^(j)the mystery which was hidden [from angels and mankind] for ages and generations, but has now been revealed to His saints (God’s people).

²⁸ We proclaim Him, ^(BV)admonishing every man and teaching every man ^(al)with all ^(BW)wisdom, so that we may ^(BX)present every man ^(am)(BY)complete in Christ.

²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

²⁸ We proclaim Him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

²⁸ It is he whom we proclaim as we admonish and wisely teach everyone, so that we may present everyone mature in the Messiah.

²⁸ We proclaim Him, warning and instructing everyone in all wisdom [that is, with comprehensive insight into the word and purposes of God], so that we may present every person complete in Christ [mature, fully trained, and perfect in Him—the Anointed].
