1 Son of man. In the midst of a perverse house, dost thou dwell, - Who have eyes to see - and have not seen. Ears have they to hear - and have no heard, For a perverse house, they are.

1 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

1 The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,

1 The word of the Lord came to me:

1 This message came to me from the LORD:

2 Thou, therefore Son of man, Prepare thee baggage for exe, and exe thyself, by day, before their eyes, - so shalt thou exe thyself out of thy place unto another place before their eyes, peradventure they will consider - though a perverse house, they are.

2 “Son of man, you live in the (A)midst of the (B)rebellious house, who (C)have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.

2 Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.

2 “Son of man, you are living among a rebellious house.(A) They have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear,(B) for they are a rebellious house.(C)

2 "Son of Man, you live in a rebellious house that has eyes to see, but they can't see, and ears to hear, but they can't hear, since they're a rebellious house.

3 Therefore shalt thou take forth thy baggage as baggage for exe, by day before their eyes, - and thou thyself, shalt go forth in the evening, before their eyes, like them who go forth to exe.

3 Therefore, son of man, prepare for yourself baggage for exile and go into exile by day in their sight; even go into exile from your place to another place in their sight. (D)Perhaps they will (a)understand though they are a rebellious house.

3 Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house.

3 “Son of man, get your bags ready for exile and go into exile in their sight during the day. You will go into exile from your place to another place while they watch; perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house.

3 "So now, Son of Man, you are to prepare your luggage for a trip into exile, and then you are to leave during the daytime so they see you leaving. Leave from your place to another while they're watching. Then perhaps they'll realize that they're a rebellious house.

4 Before their eyes, break thou forth by thyself through the wall, - and carry forth through it.

4 Bring your baggage out by day in their sight, as baggage for exile. Then you will go out (E)at evening in their sight, as those going into exile.

4 Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.

4 During the day, bring out your bags like an exile’s bags while they look on. Then in the evening go out in their sight like those going into exile.

4 "Bring out your luggage, like you're packing to go into exile, and do this during the daytime while they're watching you. Later that evening, leave while they're watching you like someone heading into exile.

5 Before their eyes, Upon the shoulder, shalt thou lift it. In thick darkness, take it forth, Thy face, shalt thou cover so that thou see not the land; For a sign, have I appointed thee to the house of Israel.

5 Dig a hole through the wall in their sight and (b)go out through it.

5 Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.

5 As they watch, dig through the wall and take the bags out through it.

5 While they continue to watch, dig a hole for yourself in the wall and enter through it.

6 And I did so, just as I was commanded, My baggage, took I forth as baggage for exe by day, and in the evening, I brake forth by myself through the wall, by force: in the twilight, I took it forth - on to my shoulder, I lifted it, before their eyes.

6 Load the baggage on your shoulder in their sight and carry it out in the dark. You shall (F)cover your face so that you cannot see the land, for I have set you as a (G)sign to the house of Israel.”

6 In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.

6 And while they look on, lift the bags to your shoulder and take them out in the dark; cover your face so that you cannot see the land. For I have made you a sign to the house of Israel.”(D)

6 "While they're watching, carry your luggage on your shoulder and go out in total darkness. Cover your face so that you won't see the land, because I'm using you as a sign to Israel's house."

7 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me in the morning, saying:

7 I (H)did so, as I had been commanded. By day I (I)brought out my baggage like the baggage of an exile. Then in the evening I dug through the wall with my hands; I went out in the dark and carried the baggage on my shoulder in their sight.

7 And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.

7 So I did just as I was commanded. In the daytime I brought out my bags like an exile’s bags. In the evening I dug through the wall by hand; I took them out in the dark, carrying them on my shoulder in their sight.

7 I did just as I was commanded. I brought out the luggage as if it were luggage for exile. I did this during the day. Then in the evening I dug a hole in the wall with my hand and brought the luggage out in total darkness and carried it out on my shoulder while they were watching.

8 Son of man, Have not the house of Israel the perverse house, said unto thee, - What art thou doing?

8 In the morning the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

8 And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,

8 Then the word of the Lord came to me in the morning:

8 The next morning, this message came to me from the LORD:

9 Say unto them, Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, - For the Bearer, is this burden, in Jerusalem, and for all the house of Israel such as are in their midst.

9 “Son of man, has not the house of Israel, the (J)rebellious house, said to you, ‘(K)What are you doing?’

9 Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?

9 “Son of man, hasn’t the house of Israel, that rebellious house,(E) asked you, ‘What are you doing?’(F)

9 "Son of Man, didn't the house of Israel, that rebellious house, ask you, "What are you doing?'

10 Say, I, am your sign: As I have done, so. shall it be done to them, Into exile - into captivity, shall they go.

10 Say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord (c)God, “This (d)(L)burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem as well as all the house of Israel who are (e)in it.”’

10 Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that are among them.

10 Say to them: This is what the Lord God says: This oracle is about the prince(a) in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel who are living there.(b)

10 Answer them, "This is what the Lord GOD says, "This oracle concerns the prince of Jerusalem and the whole of Israel's house that is in their midst.

11 Yea, the Bearer, who is in their midst, Upon his shoulder, shall lift it. In thick darkness, shall he go forth, Through the wall, shall they break to hear forth through it, - His face, shall he cover, to the end that his own eye may not see the land.

11 Say, ‘I am (f)a (M)sign to you. As I have done, so it will be done to them; they will (N)go into exile, into captivity.’

11 Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.

11 You are to say, ‘I am a sign for you. Just as I have done, so it will be done to them; they will go into exile,(G) into captivity.’

11 Tell them, "I'm a sign for you. Just as I enacted it, it's going to happen to them. They'll go into exile and captivity.

12 Then will I spread my net ever him, and he shall be taken in my snare; And I will take him to Babylon. in the land of the Chaldeans, The which, indeed, he shall not see. And yet there, shall he die!

12 The (O)prince who is among them will load his baggage on his shoulder in the dark and go out. (g)They will dig a hole through the wall to bring it out. He will cover his face so that he can not see the land with his eyes.

12 And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with his eyes.

12 The prince who is among(H) them will lift his bags to his shoulder in the dark and go out. They(c) will dig through the wall to bring him out through it. He will cover his face so he cannot see the land with his eyes.

12 Then the prince, who will be one of them, will carry his luggage on his shoulder in the dark and will go out. They'll dig a hole in the wall for him to go through. His face will be covered so that he won't be able to see the land with his eyes.

13 And all who are round about him to hell him. and all his tops, will scatter to every wind, - and a sword, will I make bare after them.

13 I will also spread My (P)net over him, and he will be caught in My snare. And I will bring him to Babylon in the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will (Q)not see it, though he will die there.

13 My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

13 But I will spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, yet he will not see it,(I) and he will die there.

13 But I'll throw my net over him. As a result, he'll be captured with my net, and with it I'll bring him to Babel, the land of the Chaldeans. He won't see it, though he'll die there.

14 So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh By my dispersing them among the nations, And scattering them throughout the lands.

14 I will (R)scatter to every wind all who are around him, his helpers and all his troops; and I will draw out a sword after them.

14 And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.

14 I will also scatter all the attendants who surround him and all his troops to every direction of the wind,(J) and I will draw a sword to chase after them.

14 I'll scatter every attendant who surrounds him, along with his entire army, to every wind. When I unsheathe my sword to pursue them,

15 Yet will I leave remaining of them, men easy counted, from the sword from a the famine and from the pestilence, - that they may recount all their abominations among the nations whither they have come, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.

15 So they will (S)know that I am the Lord when I scatter them among the nations and spread them among the countries.

15 And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.

15 They will know that I am Yahweh(K) when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them among the countries.(L)

15 they'll learn that I am the LORD, when I've dispersed them among the nations and scattered them throughout the earth."'"

16 Son of man, Thy bread, with trembling, shalt thou eat, - And thy water, in agitation and in fear, shalt thou drink.

16 But I will (h)spare a few of them from the (T)sword, the famine and the pestilence that they may tell all their abominations among the nations where they go, and (i)may (U)know that I am the Lord.”

16 But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

16 But I will spare a few of them from the sword,(M) famine, and plague so they can tell about all their detestable practices among the nations where they go. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

16 "But I'll preserve a few people out of the violent death, famine, and pestilence, so they can recount their detestable practices among the nations when they'll go there. Then they'll know that I am the LORD."

17 Then shalt thou say unto the people of the land Thus saith the Lord Yahweh concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, upon the so of Israel, Their bread, with anxious care, shall they eat, And their water in astonishment, shall they drink, - That there land may be deserted of her fulness because of the violence of all them who dwell therein:

17 Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me saying,

17 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

17 The word of the Lord came to me:

17 This message came to me from the LORD:

18 Yea the cities that are inhabited I shall be laid waste, And the land, shall become m astonish- men, - So shall ye know that, I am Yahweh.

18 “Son of man, (V)eat your bread with trembling and drink your water with quivering and anxiety.

18 Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;

18 “Son of man, eat your bread with(N) trembling and drink your water with shaking and anxiety.

18 "Son of Man, eat your bread with trembling and drink your water with quivering and anxiety.

19 Son of man What is this proverb ye have, concerning the so of Israel, saying, - The days, are prolonged, Therefore shall every vision come to nought?

19 Then say to the people of the land, ‘Thus says the Lord God concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel, “They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water with horror, because (j)their land will be (k)(W)stripped of its fullness on account of the violence of all who live in it.

19 And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.

19 Then say to the people of the land: This is what the Lord God says about the residents of Jerusalem in the land of Israel: They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water in dread, for their(d)(e) land will be stripped of everything(O) in it because of the violence of all who live there.

19 Then tell the people of the land, "This is what the LORD says to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to Israel's land: "They'll eat their food in anxiety and drink their water in trepidation, because their land will be desolate in its entirety due to all the violence committed by all who live in it.

20 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, I will cause this proverb to cease, And they shall use it as a proverb no more in Israel, - But speak unto them, The days late drawn near, And the substance of every vision.

20 The inhabited (X)cities will be laid waste and the (Y)land will be a desolation. So you will know that I am the Lord.”’”

20 And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

20 The inhabited cities will be destroyed, and the land will become a desolation. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”

20 The towns that are inhabited will lie in ruins, because the land will be devastated. Then they'll learn that I am the LORD."'"

21 For there shall no more be - Any vision of falsehood Or divination of deceit, In the midst of the house of Israel.

21 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

21 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

21 Again the word of the Lord came to me:

21 Later, this message came to me from the LORD:

22 For, I, Yahweh will speak whatsoever word I please to speak, And it shall be done, It shall not be delayed any more, - For in your own days, O perverse house, will I speak a word and perform it, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh.

22 “Son of man, what is this (Z)proverb you people have concerning the land of Israel, saying, ‘The (AA)days are long and every (AB)vision fails’?

22 Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?

22 “Son of man, what is this proverb you people have about the land of Israel,(P) which goes:The days keep passing by,(Q)and every vision fails?

22 "Son of Man, what's this proverb you have concerning Israel's land that says, "The days pass slowly and every vision ends in nothing.'?

23 Son of man. Lo! the house of Israel are saying, the vision which he seeth is for many days, Yea for times far away, hath hell prophesied.

23 Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “I will make this proverb cease so that they will no longer use it as a proverb in Israel.” But tell them, “(AC)The days draw near as well as the (l)fulfillment of every vision.

23 Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.

23 Therefore say to them: This is what the Lord God says: I will put a stop to this proverb, and they will not use it again in Israel.(R) But say to them: The days draw near,(S) as well as the fulfillment of every vision.

23 Therefore you are to tell them, "This is what the Lord GOD says, "I'm about to put an end to use of this proverb in Israel. It will never be used again as a proverb in Israel. Instead, tell them that the days are drawing near when every vision will be fulfilled.

24 Therefore say unto them. Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, None of my words shall be delayed any more, - Whatsoever word I speak, then shall it be performed, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.

24 For there will no longer be any (m)(AD)false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel.

24 For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

24 For there will no longer be any false vision or flattering divination(T) within the house of Israel.

24 There will no longer be worthless visions and flattering divinations in the midst of Israel's house.
