“‘A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?’ says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, ‘How have we despised Your name?’

But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble by the instruction; you have

corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of hosts.

However, because by this deed you have given occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also that is born to you shall surely die.”

But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations where they went.

“These who pant after the very dust of the earth on the head of the helpless
Also turn aside the way of the humble;
And a man and his father resort to the same girl
In order to profane My holy name.

For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles

because of you,” just as it is written.
