Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a certain village [i.e., Bethany. See John 11:1], and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.
And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
Now Jesus was teaching in the Temple every day, and He went out and lodged on the hill called Olivet every night [Note: Possibly this meant He lodged in a house in Bethany, which was situated on the side of this hill].
And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
The next day, having decided to leave Bethany and go into Galilee, Jesus found Philip, and invited him to follow Him.
Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
A large crowd of Jews learned that He was there [at Bethany]; and they came, not only because of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.

Verily, I say unto you - Wheresoever this glad-message shall be proclaimed in all the world, also what she did, will be told, as a memorial of her.
ButJudas Iscariot, one of his disciples, he that was about to deliver him up, saith - Why was, this perfume, not sold for three hundred denaries, and given unto the destitute? Howbeit he said this, not that, for the destitute, he cared, but because, a thief, he was, and holding, the bag, used to carry away, what was cast therein. Jesus, therefore, said - Let her alone, that, for the day of my burial, she may observe it; For, the destitute, always, have ye with you, whereas, me, not always, have ye. The great multitude of the Jews, therefore, got to know that he was, there, and came, not on account of Jesus only, but that, Lazarus also, they might see, whom he had raised from among the dead.

And he entered into Jerusalem, into the temple, and, looking round on all things, late already being the hour, he went out into Bethany, with the twelve.
