God's Protection In Times Of Crisis

1 He who dwells in the (A)shelter of the Most HighWill abide in the (B)shadow of the Almighty.

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

1 The one who lives under the protection of the Most Highdwells in the shadow of the Almighty.(A)

1 The one who lives in the shelter of the Most High, who rests in the shadow of the Almighty,

1 He who (a)dwells in the shelter of the Most HighWill remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].

2 I will say to the Lord, “My (C)refuge and my (D)fortress,My God, in whom I (E)trust!”

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

2 I will say(a) to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,my God, in whom I trust.”(B)

2 will say to the LORD, "You are my refuge, my fortress, and my God in whom I trust!"

2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”

3 For it is He who delivers you from the (F)snare of the trapperAnd from the deadly (G)pestilence.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

3 He Himself will deliver you from the hunter’s net,(C)from the destructive plague.

3 He will surely deliver you from the hunter's snare and from the destructive plague.

3 For He will save you from the trap of the fowler,And from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will (H)cover you with His pinions,And (I)under His wings you may seek refuge;His (J)faithfulness is a (K)shield and bulwark.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

4 He will cover you with His feathers;you will take refuge under His wings.(D)His faithfulness will be a protective shield.(E)

4 With his feathers he will cover you, under his wings you will find safety. His truth is your shield and armor.

4 He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions,And under His wings you will find refuge;His faithfulness is a shield and a wall.

5 You (L)will not be afraid of the (M)terror by night,Or of the (N)arrow that flies by day;

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

5 You will not fear the terror of the night,the arrow that flies by day,(F)

5 You need not fear terror that stalks in the night, the arrow that flies in the day,

5 You will not be afraid of the terror of night,Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

6 Of the (O)pestilence that (a)stalks in darkness,Or of the (P)destruction that lays waste at noon.

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

6 the plague that stalks in darkness,or the pestilence that ravages at noon.(G)

6 plague that strikes in the darkness, or calamity that destroys at noon.

6 Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,Nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon.

7 A thousand may fall at your sideAnd ten thousand at your right hand,But (Q)it shall not approach you.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

7 Though a thousand fall at your sideand ten thousand at your right hand,the pestilence will not reach you.(H)

7 If a thousand fall at your side or ten thousand at your right hand, it will not overcome you.

7 A thousand may fall at your sideAnd ten thousand at your right hand,But danger will not come near you.

8 You will only look on with your eyesAnd (R)see the recompense of the wicked.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

8 You will only see it with your eyesand witness the punishment of the wicked.(I)

8 Only observe it with your eyes, and you will see how the wicked are paid back.

8 You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyesAnd witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High].

9 (b)For you have made the Lord, (S)my refuge,Even the Most High, (T)your dwelling place.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

9 Because you have made the Lord—my refuge,(J)the Most High—your dwelling place,(K)

9 "LORD, you are my refuge!" Because you chose the Most High as your dwelling place,

9 Because you have made the Lord, [who is] my refuge,Even the Most High, your dwelling place,(A)

10 (U)No evil will befall you,Nor will any plague come near your (c)tent.

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

10 no harm will come to you;no plague will come near your tent.(L)

10 no evil will fall upon you, and no affliction will approach your tent,

10 No evil will befall you,Nor will any plague come near your tent.

11 For He will give (V)His angels charge concerning you,To guard you in all your ways.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

11 For He will give His angels orders concerning you,to protect you in all your ways.(M)

11 for he will command his angels to protect you in all your ways.

11 For He will command His angels in regard to you,To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

12 They will (W)bear you up in their hands,That you do not strike your foot against a stone.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

12 They will support you with their handsso that you will not strike your foot against a stone.(N)

12 With their hands they will lift you up so you will not trip over a stone.

12 They will lift you up in their hands,So that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone.(B)

13 You will (X)tread upon the lion and cobra,The young lion and the (d)serpent you will trample down.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;you will trample the young lion and the serpent.(O)

13 You will stomp on lions and snakes; you will trample young lions and serpents.

13 You will tread upon the lion and cobra;The young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.(C)

14 (Y)Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;I will (Z)set him securely on high, because he has (AA)known My name.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

14 Because he is lovingly devoted to Me,I will deliver him;I will protect him because he knows My name.(P)

14 Because he has focused his love on me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name.

14 “Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him;I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].

15 “He will (AB)call upon Me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in (e)trouble;I will rescue him and (AC)honor him.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

15 When he calls out to Me, I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble.I will rescue him and give him honor.(Q)

15 When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him.

15 “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble;I will rescue him and honor him.

16 “With (f)a (AD)long life I will satisfy himAnd (g)(AE)let him see My salvation.”

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

16 I will satisfy him with a long life(R)and show him My salvation.(S)
