The Majesty of God

וְזֹ֣את

wə·zōṯ

And this [is]

､ הַבְּרָכָ֗ה

hab·bə·rā·ḵāh,

the blessing ､

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

’ă·šer

with which

בֵּרַ֥ךְ

bê·raḵ

מֹשֶׁ֛ה

mō·šeh

אִ֥ישׁ

’îš

the man

הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

of God

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

yiś·rā·’êl;

לִפְנֵ֖י

lip̄·nê

. מוֹתֽוֹ׃

mō·w·ṯōw.

､ וַיֹּאמַ֗ר

way·yō·mar,

And he said ､

יְהוָ֞ה

Yah·weh

מִסִּינַ֥י

mis·sî·nay

בָּא֙

bā

וְזָרַ֤ח

wə·zā·raḥ

מִשֵּׂעִיר֙

miś·śê·‘îr

לָ֔מוֹ

lā·mōw,

הוֹפִ֙יעַ֙

hō·w·p̄î·a‘

מֵהַ֣ר

mê·har

､ פָּארָ֔ן

pā·rān,

וְאָתָ֖ה

wə·’ā·ṯāh

and He came

מֵרִבְבֹ֣ת

mê·riḇ·ḇōṯ

with ten thousands

– קֹ֑דֶשׁ

qō·ḏeš;

of holy ones –

מִֽימִינ֕וֹ

mî·mî·nōw

from His right hand

[אשדת]

’ê·šə·dāṯ

-

(אֵ֥שׁ)

’êš

(דָּ֖ת)

dāṯ

[Came] a fiery law

. לָֽמוֹ׃

lā·mōw.

､ אַ֚ף

’ap̄

Yes ､

חֹבֵ֣ב

ḥō·ḇêḇ

– עַמִּ֔ים

‘am·mîm,

the people –

כָּל־

kāl-

קְדֹשָׁ֖יו

qə·ḏō·šāw

the holy ones [are]

､ בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ

bə·yā·ḏe·ḵā;

in Your hand ､

וְהֵם֙

wə·hêm

and they

תֻּכּ֣וּ

tuk·kū

– לְרַגְלֶ֔ךָ

lə·raḡ·le·ḵā,

at Your feet –

יִשָּׂ֖א

yiś·śā

[Everyone] receives

. מִדַּבְּרֹתֶֽיךָ׃

mid·dab·bə·rō·ṯe·ḵā.

､ תּוֹרָ֥ה

tō·w·rāh

A law ､

צִוָּה־

ṣiw·wāh-

לָ֖נוּ

lā·nū

for us

מֹשֶׁ֑ה

mō·šeh;

מוֹרָשָׁ֖ה

mō·w·rā·šāh

קְהִלַּ֥ת

qə·hil·laṯ

of the congregation

. יַעֲקֹֽב׃

ya·‘ă·qōḇ.

of Jacob .

וַיְהִ֥י

way·hî

And He was

､ בִישֻׁר֖וּן

ḇî·šu·rūn

in Jeshurun ､

מֶ֑לֶךְ

me·leḵ;

בְּהִתְאַסֵּף֙

bə·hiṯ·’as·sêp̄

when were gathered

רָ֣אשֵׁי

rā·šê

עָ֔ם

‘ām,

of the people

יַ֖חַד

ya·ḥaḏ

שִׁבְטֵ֥י

šiḇ·ṭê

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

The Blessings of the Twelve Tribes

､ יְחִ֥י

yə·ḥî

רְאוּבֵ֖ן

rə·’ū·ḇên

וְאַל־

wə·’al-

and not

– יָמֹ֑ת

yā·mōṯ;

die –

וִיהִ֥י

wî·hî

[Nor] let be

מְתָ֖יו

mə·ṯāw

. מִסְפָּֽר׃

mis·pār.

wə·zōṯ

And this

– לִֽיהוּדָה֮

lî·hū·ḏāh

of Judah –

､ וַיֹּאמַר֒

way·yō·mar

and he said ､

､ שְׁמַ֤ע

šə·ma‘

Hear ､

､ יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

ק֣וֹל

qō·wl

､ יְהוּדָ֔ה

yə·hū·ḏāh,

of Judah ､

וְאֶל־

wə·’el-

and to

. עַמּ֖וֹ

‘am·mōw

תְּבִיאֶ֑נּוּ

tə·ḇî·’en·nū;

יָדָיו֙

yā·ḏāw

רָ֣ב

rāḇ

let be sufficient

ל֔וֹ

lōw,

וְעֵ֥זֶר

wə·‘ê·zer

and a help

מִצָּרָ֖יו

miṣ·ṣā·rāw

against his enemies

. תִּהְיֶֽה׃

tih·yeh.

may You be .

וּלְלֵוִ֣י

ū·lə·lê·wî

And of Levi

､ אָמַ֔ר

’ā·mar,

he said ､

תֻּמֶּ֥יךָ

tum·me·ḵā

[let] Your Thummim

וְאוּרֶ֖יךָ

wə·’ū·re·ḵā

and Your Urim [be]

､ לְאִ֣ישׁ

lə·’îš

with one ､

חֲסִידֶ֑ךָ

ḥă·sî·ḏe·ḵā;

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

’ă·šer

נִסִּיתוֹ֙

nis·sî·ṯōw

､ בְּמַסָּ֔ה

bə·mas·sāh,

at Massah ､

תְּרִיבֵ֖הוּ

tə·rî·ḇê·hū

and with whom You contended

עַל־

‘al-

at

מֵ֥י

mê

– מְרִיבָֽה׃

mə·rî·ḇāh.

of Meribah –

הָאֹמֵ֞ר

hā·’ō·mêr

לְאָבִ֤יו

lə·’ā·ḇîw

､ וּלְאִמּוֹ֙

ū·lə·’im·mōw

and mother ､

לֹ֣א

lō

not

רְאִיתִ֔יו

rə·’î·ṯîw,

I have seen them

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

､ אֶחָיו֙

’e·ḥāw

his brothers ､

לֹ֣א

lō

הִכִּ֔יר

hik·kîr,

did he acknowledge

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

Or

[בנו]

bā·nōw

-

､ (בָּנָ֖יו)

bā·nāw

his own sons ､

לֹ֣א

lō

יָדָ֑ע

yā·ḏā‘;

כִּ֤י

kî

שָֽׁמְרוּ֙

šā·mə·rū

they have observed

､ אִמְרָתֶ֔ךָ

’im·rā·ṯe·ḵā,

וּבְרִֽיתְךָ֖

ū·ḇə·rî·ṯə·ḵā

and Your covenant

. יִנְצֹֽרוּ׃

yin·ṣō·rū.

יוֹר֤וּ

yō·w·rū

They shall teach

､ מִשְׁפָּטֶ֙יךָ֙

miš·pā·ṭe·ḵā

Your judgments ､

לְיַעֲקֹ֔ב

lə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ,

– וְתוֹרָתְךָ֖

wə·ṯō·w·rā·ṯə·ḵā

and Your law –

לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

lə·yiś·rā·’êl;

יָשִׂ֤ימוּ

yā·śî·mū

קְטוֹרָה֙

qə·ṭō·w·rāh

בְּאַפֶּ֔ךָ

bə·’ap·pe·ḵā,

וְכָלִ֖יל

wə·ḵā·lîl

and a whole burnt sacrifice

עַֽל־

‘al-

on

. מִזְבְּחֶֽךָ׃

miz·bə·ḥe·ḵā.

､ בָּרֵ֤ךְ

bā·rêḵ

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

､ חֵיל֔וֹ

ḥê·lōw,

his substance ､

וּפֹ֥עַל

ū·p̄ō·‘al

and the work

– יָדָ֖יו

yā·ḏāw

of his hands –

תִּרְצֶ֑ה

tir·ṣeh;

מְחַ֨ץ

mə·ḥaṣ

מָתְנַ֧יִם

mā·ṯə·na·yim

קָמָ֛יו

qā·māw

of those who rise against him

וּמְשַׂנְאָ֖יו

ū·mə·śan·’āw

and of those who hate him

מִן־

min-

. יְקוּמֽוּן׃

yə·qū·mūn.

they rise not again .

לְבִנְיָמִ֣ן

lə·ḇin·yā·min

､ אָמַ֔ר

’ā·mar,

he said ､

יְדִ֣יד

yə·ḏîḏ

יְהֹוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

יִשְׁכֹּ֥ן

yiš·kōn

לָבֶ֖טַח

lā·ḇe·ṭaḥ

עָלָ֑יו

‘ā·lāw;

by Him

חֹפֵ֤ף

ḥō·p̄êp̄

עָלָיו֙

‘ā·lāw

כָּל־

kāl-

הַיּ֔וֹם

hay·yō·wm,

וּבֵ֥ין

ū·ḇên

כְּתֵיפָ֖יו

kə·ṯê·p̄āw

. שָׁכֵֽן׃

šā·ḵên.

he shall dwell .

וּלְיוֹסֵ֣ף

ū·lə·yō·w·sêp̄

And of Joseph

､ אָמַ֔ר

’ā·mar,

he said ､

מְבֹרֶ֥כֶת

mə·ḇō·re·ḵeṯ

יְהֹוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

､ אַרְצ֑וֹ

’ar·ṣōw;

[is] his land ､

מִמֶּ֤גֶד

mim·me·ḡeḏ

with the precious things

､ שָׁמַ֙יִם֙

šā·ma·yim

of heaven ､

､ מִטָּ֔ל

miṭ·ṭāl,

with the dew ､

וּמִתְּה֖וֹם

ū·mit·tə·hō·wm

and the deep

רֹבֶ֥צֶת

rō·ḇe·ṣeṯ

､ תָּֽחַת׃

tā·ḥaṯ.

וּמִמֶּ֖גֶד

ū·mim·me·ḡeḏ

and with the precious

תְּבוּאֹ֣ת

tə·ḇū·’ōṯ

､ שָׁ֑מֶשׁ

šā·meš;

of the sun ､

וּמִמֶּ֖גֶד

ū·mim·me·ḡeḏ

and with the precious

גֶּ֥רֶשׁ

ge·reš

､ יְרָחִֽים׃

yə·rā·ḥîm.

of the months ､

וּמֵרֹ֖אשׁ

ū·mê·rōš

and with the best things

､ הַרְרֵי־

har·rê-

of the mountains ､

קֶ֑דֶם

qe·ḏem;

וּמִמֶּ֖גֶד

ū·mim·me·ḡeḏ

and with the precious things

､ גִּבְע֥וֹת

giḇ·‘ō·wṯ

of the hills ､

. עוֹלָֽם׃

‘ō·w·lām.

וּמִמֶּ֗גֶד

ū·mim·me·ḡeḏ,

And with the precious things

אֶ֚רֶץ

’e·reṣ

of the earth

וּמְלֹאָ֔הּ

ū·mə·lō·’āh,

and its fullness

וּרְצ֥וֹן

ū·rə·ṣō·wn

and the favor

שֹׁכְנִ֖י

šō·ḵə·nî

of Him who dwelt

. סְנֶ֑ה

sə·neh;

in the bush .

תָּב֙וֹאתָה֙

tā·ḇō·w·ṯāh

Let [the blessing] come

לְרֹ֣אשׁ

lə·rōš

on the head

､ יוֹסֵ֔ף

yō·w·sêp̄,

of Joseph ､

וּלְקָדְקֹ֖ד

ū·lə·qā·ḏə·qōḏ

and on the crown of the head

נְזִ֥יר

nə·zîr

of him [who was] separate from

. אֶחָֽיו׃

’e·ḥāw.

בְּכ֨וֹר

bə·ḵō·wr

､ שׁוֹר֜וֹ

šō·w·rōw

a bull ､

הָדָ֣ר

hā·ḏār

glory [is like]

ל֗וֹ

lōw,

וְקַרְנֵ֤י

wə·qar·nê

and the horns

– רְאֵם֙

rə·’êm

of the wild ox –

קַרְנָ֔יו

qar·nāw,

his horns [like]

בָּהֶ֗ם

bā·hem,

with them

עַמִּ֛ים

‘am·mîm

יְנַגַּ֥ח

yə·nag·gaḥ

יַחְדָּ֖ו

yaḥ·dāw

אַפְסֵי־

’ap̄·sê-

to the ends

. אָ֑רֶץ

’ā·reṣ;

of the earth .

וְהֵם֙

wə·hêm

And they [are]

רִבְב֣וֹת

riḇ·ḇō·wṯ

the ten thousands

､ אֶפְרַ֔יִם

’ep̄·ra·yim,

of Ephraim ､

וְהֵ֖ם

wə·hêm

and they [are]

אַלְפֵ֥י

’al·p̄ê

. מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃

mə·naš·šeh.

וְלִזְבוּלֻ֣ן

wə·liz·ḇū·lun

And of Zebulun

､ אָמַ֔ר

’ā·mar,

he said ､

､ שְׂמַ֥ח

śə·maḥ

､ זְבוּלֻ֖ן

zə·ḇū·lun

– בְּצֵאתֶ֑ךָ

bə·ṣê·ṯe·ḵā;

in your going out –

､ וְיִשָּׂשכָ֖ר

wə·yiś·śā·š·ḵār

and Issachar ､

. בְּאֹהָלֶֽיךָ׃

bə·’ō·hā·le·ḵā.

in your tents .

עַמִּים֙

‘am·mîm

– הַר־

har-

[to] the mountain –

יִקְרָ֔אוּ

yiq·rā·’ū,

they shall call

שָׁ֖ם

šām

יִזְבְּח֣וּ

yiz·bə·ḥū

they shall offer

זִבְחֵי־

ziḇ·ḥê-

– צֶ֑דֶק

ṣe·ḏeq;

of righteousness –

כִּ֣י

kî

שֶׁ֤פַע

še·p̄a‘

､ יַמִּים֙

yam·mîm

of the seas ､

יִינָ֔קוּ

yî·nā·qū,

they shall partake [of]

וּשְׂפוּנֵ֖י

ū·śə·p̄ū·nê

and [of] treasures

טְמ֥וּנֵי

ṭə·mū·nê

. חֽוֹל׃

ḥō·wl.

the sand .

וּלְגָ֣ד

ū·lə·ḡāḏ

And of Gad

､ אָמַ֔ר

’ā·mar,

he said ､

בָּר֖וּךְ

bā·rūḵ

מַרְחִ֣יב

mar·ḥîḇ

he who enlarges

– גָּ֑ד

gāḏ;

Gad –

､ כְּלָבִ֣יא

kə·lā·ḇî

as a lion ､

שָׁכֵ֔ן

šā·ḵên,

וְטָרַ֥ף

wə·ṭā·rap̄

זְר֖וֹעַ

zə·rō·w·a‘

the arm

אַף־

’ap̄-

and

. קָדְקֹֽד׃

qā·ḏə·qōḏ.

the crown of his head .

וַיַּ֤רְא

way·yar

And He provided

רֵאשִׁית֙

rê·šîṯ

the first [part]

ל֔וֹ

lōw,

כִּי־

kî-

､ שָׁ֛ם

šām

חֶלְקַ֥ת

ḥel·qaṯ

､ מְחֹקֵ֖ק

mə·ḥō·qêq

of lawgiver ､

– סָפ֑וּן

sā·p̄ūn;

was reserved –

וַיֵּתֵא֙

way·yê·ṯê

and He came

רָ֣אשֵׁי

rā·šê

[with] the heads

､ עָ֔ם

‘ām,

of the people ､

צִדְקַ֤ת

ṣiḏ·qaṯ

､ יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

of Yahweh ､

עָשָׂ֔ה

‘ā·śāh,

He administered

וּמִשְׁפָּטָ֖יו

ū·miš·pā·ṭāw

and His judgments

עִם־

‘im-

with

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

וּלְדָ֣ן

ū·lə·ḏān

And of Dan

､ אָמַ֔ר

’ā·mar,

he said ､

דָּ֖ן

dān

Dan [is]

､ גּ֣וּר

gūr

אַרְיֵ֑ה

’ar·yêh;

יְזַנֵּ֖ק

yə·zan·nêq

מִן־

min-

. הַבָּשָֽׁן׃

hab·bā·šān.

וּלְנַפְתָּלִ֣י

ū·lə·nap̄·tā·lî

And of Naphtali

､ אָמַ֔ר

’ā·mar,

he said ､

､ נַפְתָּלִי֙

nap̄·tā·lî

שְׂבַ֣ע

śə·ḇa‘

､ רָצ֔וֹן

rā·ṣō·wn,

with favor ､

וּמָלֵ֖א

ū·mā·lê

and full

בִּרְכַּ֣ת

bir·kaṯ

of the blessing

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

of Yahweh ､

יָ֥ם

yām

the west

וְדָר֖וֹם

wə·ḏā·rō·wm

and the south

. יְרָֽשָׁה׃

yə·rā·šāh.

וּלְאָשֵׁ֣ר

ū·lə·’ā·šêr

And of Asher

､ אָמַ֔ר

’ā·mar,

he said ､

בָּר֥וּךְ

bā·rūḵ

– מִבָּנִ֖ים

mib·bā·nîm

of sons –

אָשֵׁ֑ר

’ā·šêr;

Asher [is]

יְהִ֤י

yə·hî

רְצוּי֙

rə·ṣui

､ אֶחָ֔יו

’e·ḥāw,

by his brothers ､

וְטֹבֵ֥ל

wə·ṭō·ḇêl

and let him dip

בַּשֶּׁ֖מֶן

baš·še·men

in oil

. רַגְלֽוֹ׃

raḡ·lōw.

בַּרְזֶ֥ל

bar·zel

– וּנְחֹ֖שֶׁת

ū·nə·ḥō·šeṯ

and bronze –

מִנְעָלֶ֑יךָ

min·‘ā·le·ḵā;

Your sandals [shall be]

､ וּכְיָמֶ֖יךָ

ū·ḵə·yā·me·ḵā

and as your days ､

. דָּבְאֶֽךָ׃

dā·ḇə·’e·ḵā.

[so shall] your strength [be] .

The Excellence of Israel

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[There is] no one

כָּאֵ֖ל

kā·’êl

､ יְשֻׁר֑וּן

yə·šu·rūn;

of Jeshurun ､

רֹכֵ֤ב

rō·ḵêḇ

שָׁמַ֙יִם֙

šā·ma·yim

､ בְעֶזְרֶ֔ךָ

ḇə·‘ez·re·ḵā,

to help you ､

וּבְגַאֲוָת֖וֹ

ū·ḇə·ḡa·’ă·wā·ṯōw

and in His excellency

. שְׁחָקִֽים׃

šə·ḥā·qîm.

on the clouds .

､ מְעֹנָה֙

mə·‘ō·nāh

[your] refuge ､

אֱלֹ֣הֵי

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God [is]

קֶ֔דֶם

qe·ḏem,

וּמִתַּ֖חַת

ū·mit·ta·ḥaṯ

– זְרֹעֹ֣ת

zə·rō·‘ōṯ

[are] the arms –

עוֹלָ֑ם

‘ō·w·lām;

וַיְגָ֧רֶשׁ

way·ḡā·reš

and He will thrust out

מִפָּנֶ֛יךָ

mip·pā·ne·ḵā

from before you

אוֹיֵ֖ב

’ō·w·yêḇ

､ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and will say ､

. הַשְׁמֵֽד׃

haš·mêḏ.

וַיִּשְׁכֹּן֩

way·yiš·kōn

And shall dwell

יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל

yiś·rā·’êl

בֶּ֤טַח

be·ṭaḥ

､ בָּדָד֙

bā·ḏāḏ

עֵ֣ין

‘ên

יַעֲקֹ֔ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ,

אֶל־

’el-

in

אֶ֖רֶץ

’e·reṣ

דָּגָ֣ן

dā·ḡān

– וְתִיר֑וֹשׁ

wə·ṯî·rō·wōš;

and new wine –

אַף־

’ap̄-

שָׁמָ֖יו

šā·māw

יַֽעַרְפוּ

ya·‘ar·p̄ū

. טָֽל׃

ṭāl.

אַשְׁרֶ֨יךָ

’aš·re·ḵā

Blessed [are] you

– יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל

yiś·rā·’êl

מִ֣י

mî

who [is]

､ כָמ֗וֹךָ

ḵā·mō·w·ḵā,

עַ֚ם

‘am

נוֹשַׁ֣ע

nō·wō·ša‘

､ בַּֽיהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

by Yahweh ､

מָגֵ֣ן

mā·ḡên

､ עֶזְרֶ֔ךָ

‘ez·re·ḵā,

of your help ､

וַאֲשֶׁר־

wa·’ă·šer-

and

חֶ֖רֶב

ḥe·reḇ

! גַּאֲוָתֶ֑ךָ

ga·’ă·wā·ṯe·ḵā;

of your majesty !

וְיִכָּֽחֲשׁ֤וּ

wə·yik·kā·ḥă·šū

and shall submit

אֹיְבֶ֙יךָ֙

’ō·yə·ḇe·ḵā

לָ֔ךְ

lāḵ,

to you

וְאַתָּ֖ה

wə·’at·tāh

and you

עַל־

‘al-

on

בָּמוֹתֵ֥ימוֹ

bā·mō·w·ṯê·mōw

their high places

. תִדְרֹֽךְ׃

ṯiḏ·rōḵ.

shall tread down .
