､ אָדָ֗ם

of man ､

דַּבֵּ֤ר

dab·bêr

אֶל־

’el-

to

בְּנֵֽי־

bə·nê-

the sons

､ עַמְּךָ֙

‘am·mə·ḵā

of your people ､

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣

wə·’ā·mar·tā

and say

אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם

’ă·lê·hem,

､ אֶ֕רֶץ

’e·reṣ

a land ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

אָבִ֥יא

’ā·ḇî

עָלֶ֖יהָ

‘ā·le·hā

חָ֑רֶב

ḥā·reḇ;

וְלָקְח֨וּ

wə·lā·qə·ḥū

and take

עַם־

‘am-

הָאָ֜רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ

of the land

אִ֤ישׁ

’îš

אֶחָד֙

’e·ḥāḏ

a

､ מִקְצֵיהֶ֔ם

miq·ṣê·hem,

from their territory ､

וְנָתְנ֥וּ

wə·nā·ṯə·nū

and make

אֹת֛וֹ

’ō·ṯōw

לָהֶ֖ם

lā·hem

､ לְצֹפֶֽה׃

lə·ṣō·p̄eh.

וְרָאָ֥ה

wə·rā·’āh

and when he sees

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַחֶ֖רֶב

ha·ḥe·reḇ

בָּאָ֣ה

bā·’āh

עַל־

‘al-

､ הָאָ֑רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ;

the land ､

וְתָקַ֥ע

wə·ṯā·qa‘

and if he blows

､ בַּשּׁוֹפָ֖ר

baš·šō·w·p̄ār

the trumpet ､

וְהִזְהִ֥יר

wə·hiz·hîr

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

– הָעָֽם׃

hā·‘ām.

the people –

וְשָׁמַ֨ע

wə·šā·ma‘

הַשֹּׁמֵ֜עַ

haš·šō·mê·a‘

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

ק֤וֹל

qō·wl

､ הַשּׁוֹפָר֙

haš·šō·w·p̄ār

of the trumpet ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and not

– נִזְהָ֔ר

niz·hār,

does take warning –

､ וַתָּ֥בוֹא

wat·tā·ḇō·w

and if comes ､

חֶ֖רֶב

ḥe·reḇ

､ וַתִּקָּחֵ֑הוּ

wat·tiq·qā·ḥê·hū;

and takes him away ､

דָּמ֥וֹ

dā·mōw

בְרֹאשׁ֖וֹ

ḇə·rō·šōw

on his [own] head

. יִֽהְיֶֽה׃

yih·yeh.

shall be .

אֵת֩

’êṯ

-

ק֨וֹל

qō·wl

､ הַשּׁוֹפָ֤ר

haš·šō·w·p̄ār

of the trumpet ､

שָׁמַע֙

šā·ma‘

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

but not

– נִזְהָ֔ר

niz·hār,

did take warning –

דָּמ֖וֹ

dā·mōw

בּ֣וֹ

bōw

יִֽהְיֶ֑ה

yih·yeh;

וְה֥וּא

wə·hū

but he

נִזְהָ֖ר

niz·hār

who takes warning

נַפְשׁ֥וֹ

nap̄·šōw

. מִלֵּֽט׃

mil·lêṭ.

will save .

וְ֠הַצֹּפֶה

wə·haṣ·ṣō·p̄eh

But the watchman

כִּֽי־

יִרְאֶ֨ה

yir·’eh

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַחֶ֜רֶב

ha·ḥe·reḇ

､ בָּאָ֗ה

bā·’āh,

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

and not

תָקַ֤ע

ṯā·qa‘

､ בַּשּׁוֹפָר֙

baš·šō·w·p̄ār

the trumpet ､

וְהָעָ֣ם

wə·hā·‘ām

and the people

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

– נִזְהָ֔ר

niz·hār,

､ וַתָּב֣וֹא

wat·tā·ḇō·w

and comes ､

חֶ֔רֶב

ḥe·reḇ,

וַתִּקַּ֥ח

wat·tiq·qaḥ

מֵהֶ֖ם

mê·hem

from among them

נָ֑פֶשׁ

nā·p̄eš;

ה֚וּא

hū

he

– בַּעֲוֺנ֣וֹ

ba·‘ă·wō·nōw

in his iniquity –

נִלְקָ֔ח

nil·qāḥ,

וְדָמ֖וֹ

wə·ḏā·mōw

. מִיַּֽד־

mî·yaḏ-

at hand .

הַצֹּפֶ֥ה

haṣ·ṣō·p̄eh

Of the watchman

. אֶדְרֹֽשׁ׃

’eḏ·rōš.

I will require .

wə·’at·tāh

So you ､

בֶן־

ḇen-

､ אָדָ֔ם

’ā·ḏām,

of man ､

צֹפֶ֥ה

ṣō·p̄eh

נְתַתִּ֖יךָ

nə·ṯat·tî·ḵā

I have made you

לְבֵ֣ית

lə·ḇêṯ

– יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

yiś·rā·’êl;

of Israel –

וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֤

wə·šā·ma‘·tā

and therefore you shall hear

､ מִפִּי֙

mip·pî

from My mouth ､

דָּבָ֔ר

dā·ḇār,

וְהִזְהַרְתָּ֥

wə·hiz·har·tā

and warn

אֹתָ֖ם

’ō·ṯām

､ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃

mim·men·nî.

for Me ､

בְּאָמְרִ֣י

bə·’ā·mə·rî

､ לָרָשָׁ֗ע

lā·rā·šā‘,

to the wicked ､

רָשָׁע֙

rā·šā‘

– מ֣וֹת

mō·wṯ

– תָּמ֔וּת

tā·mūṯ,

you shall die –

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and not

דִבַּ֔רְתָּ

ḏib·bar·tā,

לְהַזְהִ֥יר

lə·haz·hîr

רָשָׁ֖ע

rā·šā‘

､ מִדַּרְכּ֑וֹ

mid·dar·kōw;

from his way ､

ה֤וּא

hū

רָשָׁע֙

rā·šā‘

– בַּעֲוֺנ֣וֹ

ba·‘ă·wō·nōw

in his iniquity –

יָמ֔וּת

yā·mūṯ,

וְדָמ֖וֹ

wə·ḏā·mōw

מִיָּדְךָ֥

mî·yā·ḏə·ḵā

. אֲבַקֵּֽשׁ׃

’ă·ḇaq·qêš.

I will require .

וְ֠אַתָּה

wə·’at·tāh

And nevertheless you

כִּֽי־

kî-

if

הִזְהַ֨רְתָּ

hiz·har·tā

רָשָׁ֤ע

rā·šā‘

מִדַּרְכּוֹ֙

mid·dar·kōw

לָשׁ֣וּב

lā·šūḇ

מִמֶּ֔נָּה

mim·men·nāh,

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

and not

שָׁ֖ב

šāḇ

､ מִדַּרְכּ֑וֹ

mid·dar·kōw;

from his way ､

ה֚וּא

hū

he

– בַּעֲוֺנ֣וֹ

ba·‘ă·wō·nōw

in his iniquity –

יָמ֔וּת

yā·mūṯ,

וְאַתָּ֖ה

wə·’at·tāh

but you

נַפְשְׁךָ֥

nap̄·šə·ḵā

. הִצַּֽלְתָּ׃

hiṣ·ṣal·tā.

have delivered .

And therefore you

､ אָדָ֗ם

of man ､

אֱמֹר֙

’ĕ·mōr

אֶל־

’el-

to

בֵּ֣ית

bêṯ

– יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

of Israel –

כֵּ֤ן

kên

､ אֲמַרְתֶּם֙

’ă·mar·tem

you ､

､ לֵאמֹ֔ר

lê·mōr,

say ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

if

פְשָׁעֵ֥ינוּ

p̄ə·šā·‘ê·nū

our transgressions

וְחַטֹּאתֵ֖ינוּ

wə·ḥaṭ·ṭō·ṯê·nū

and our sins [lie]

עָלֵ֑ינוּ

‘ā·lê·nū;

וּבָ֛ם

ū·ḇām

and in them

אֲנַ֥חְנוּ

’ă·naḥ·nū

we

נְמַקִּ֖ים

nə·maq·qîm

וְאֵ֥יךְ

wə·’êḵ

؟ נִֽחְיֶֽה׃

niḥ·yeh.

can we live ؟

אֱמֹ֨ר

’ĕ·mōr

אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם

’ă·lê·hem

､ חַי־

ḥay-

live ､

אָ֣נִי ׀

’ā·nî

[As] I

נְאֻ֣ם ׀

nə·’um

אֲדֹנָ֣י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

､ יְהוִ֗ה

Yah·weh

GOD ､

אִם־

’im-

but

אֶחְפֹּץ֙

’eḥ·pōṣ

I have no pleasure

בְּמ֣וֹת

bə·mō·wṯ

in the death

– הָרָשָׁ֔ע

hā·rā·šā‘,

of the wicked –

כִּ֣י

kî

אִם־

’im-

but that

בְּשׁ֥וּב

bə·šūḇ

רָשָׁ֛ע

rā·šā‘

מִדַּרְכּ֖וֹ

mid·dar·kōw

. וְחָיָ֑ה

wə·ḥā·yāh;

and live .

שׁ֣וּבוּ

šū·ḇū

שׁ֜וּבוּ

šū·ḇū

– מִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֧ם

mid·dar·ḵê·ḵem

from your ways –

הָרָעִ֛ים

hā·rā·‘îm

וְלָ֥מָּה

wə·lām·māh

､ תָמ֖וּתוּ

ṯā·mū·ṯū

should you die ､

בֵּ֥ית

bêṯ

؟ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

of Israel ؟

shall deliver him

בְּי֣וֹם

bə·yō·wm

in the day

､ פִּשְׁע֔וֹ

piš·‘ōw,

of his transgression ､

וְרִשְׁעַ֤ת

wə·riš·‘aṯ

and as for the wickedness

､ הָֽרָשָׁע֙

hā·rā·šā‘

of the wicked ､

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

יִכָּ֣שֶׁל

yik·kā·šel

בָּ֔הּ

bāh,

בְּי֖וֹם

bə·yō·wm

in the day

שׁוּב֣וֹ

šū·ḇōw

– מֵֽרִשְׁע֑וֹ

mê·riš·‘ōw;

from his wickedness –

וְצַדִּ֗יק

wə·ṣad·dîq,

and the righteous

לֹ֥א

lō

יוּכַ֛ל

yū·ḵal

לִֽחְי֥וֹת

liḥ·yō·wṯ

בָּ֖הּ

bāh

because of [his] [righteousness]

בְּי֥וֹם

bə·yō·wm

in the day

. חֲטֹאתֽוֹ׃

ḥă·ṭō·ṯōw.

בְּאָמְרִ֤י

bə·’ā·mə·rî

､ לַצַּדִּיק֙

laṣ·ṣad·dîq

to the righteous ､

חָיֹ֣ה

ḥā·yōh

– יִֽחְיֶ֔ה

yiḥ·yeh,

he shall live –

וְהֽוּא־

wə·hū-

but he

בָטַ֥ח

ḇā·ṭaḥ

עַל־

‘al-

in

､ צִדְקָת֖וֹ

ṣiḏ·qā·ṯōw

his own righteousness ､

וְעָ֣שָׂה

wə·‘ā·śāh

､ עָ֑וֶל

‘ā·wel;

כָּל־

kāl-

[צדקתו]

ṣiḏ·qā·ṯōw

-

(צִדְקֹתָיו֙)

ṣiḏ·qō·ṯāw

of his righteous works

לֹ֣א

lō

– תִזָּכַ֔רְנָה

ṯiz·zā·ḵar·nāh,

shall be remembered –

וּבְעַוְל֥וֹ

ū·ḇə·‘aw·lōw

but because of the iniquity

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

､ עָשָׂ֖ה

‘ā·śāh

has committed ､

בּ֥וֹ

bōw

he

. יָמֽוּת׃

yā·mūṯ.

וּבְאָמְרִ֥י

ū·ḇə·’ā·mə·rî

And Again when I say

､ לָֽרָשָׁ֖ע

lā·rā·šā‘

to the wicked ､

מ֣וֹת

mō·wṯ

תָּמ֑וּת

tā·mūṯ;

וְשָׁב֙

wə·šāḇ

and if he turns

､ מֵֽחַטָּאת֔וֹ

mê·ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯōw,

from his sin ､

וְעָשָׂ֥ה

wə·‘ā·śāh

and does

מִשְׁפָּ֖ט

miš·pāṭ

– וּצְדָקָֽה׃

ū·ṣə·ḏā·qāh.

and right –

､ חֲבֹ֨ל

ḥă·ḇōl

the pledge ､

יָשִׁ֤יב

yā·šîḇ

רָשָׁע֙

rā·šā‘

､ גְּזֵלָ֣ה

gə·zê·lāh

what he has stolen ､

יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם

yə·šal·lêm,

בְּחֻקּ֤וֹת

bə·ḥuq·qō·wṯ

in the statutes

､ הַֽחַיִּים֙

ha·ḥay·yîm

of life ､

הָלַ֔ךְ

hā·laḵ,

לְבִלְתִּ֖י

lə·ḇil·tî

עֲשׂ֣וֹת

‘ă·śō·wṯ

– עָ֑וֶל

‘ā·wel;

חָי֥וֹ

ḥā·yōw

､ יִֽחְיֶ֖ה

yiḥ·yeh

he shall live ､

לֹ֥א

lō

not

. יָמֽוּת׃

yā·mūṯ.

כָּל־

kāl-

[חטאתו]

ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯōw

-

(חַטֹּאתָיו֙)

ḥaṭ·ṭō·ṯāw

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

חָטָ֔א

ḥā·ṭā,

he has committed

לֹ֥א

lō

תִזָּכַ֖רְנָה

ṯiz·zā·ḵar·nāh

shall be remembered

מִשְׁפָּ֧ט

– וּצְדָקָ֛ה

and right –

he shall live .

､ וְאָמְרוּ֙

And yet say ､

בְּנֵ֣י

the sons

עַמְּךָ֔

לֹ֥א

lō

not

– יִתָּכֵ֖ן

yit·tā·ḵên

is fair –

דֶּ֣רֶךְ

de·reḵ

the way

אֲדֹנָ֑י

’ă·ḏō·nāy;

､ וְהֵ֖מָּה

wə·hêm·māh

but are ､

דַּרְכָּ֥ם

dar·kām

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

. יִתָּכֵֽן׃

yit·tā·ḵên.

בְּשׁוּב־

bə·šūḇ-

צַדִּ֥יק

ṣad·dîq

､ מִצִּדְקָת֖וֹ

miṣ·ṣiḏ·qā·ṯōw

from his righteousness ､

וְעָ֣שָׂה

wə·‘ā·śāh

､ עָ֑וֶל

‘ā·wel;

וּמֵ֖ת

and he shall die

. בָּהֶֽם׃

because of it .

וּבְשׁ֤וּב

רָשָׁע֙

rā·šā‘

､ מֵֽרִשְׁעָת֔וֹ

mê·riš·‘ā·ṯōw,

from his wickedness ､

וְעָשָׂ֥ה

wə·‘ā·śāh

and does

מִשְׁפָּ֖ט

miš·pāṭ

､ וּצְדָקָ֑ה

ū·ṣə·ḏā·qāh;

and right ､

עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם

‘ă·lê·hem

ה֥וּא

hū

he

. יִֽחְיֶֽה׃

yiḥ·yeh.

､ וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם

wa·’ă·mar·tem

And yet you say ､

לֹ֥א

lō

not

. יִתָּכֵ֖ן

yit·tā·ḵên

is fair .

דֶּ֣רֶךְ

de·reḵ

The way

אֲדֹנָ֑י

’ă·ḏō·nāy;

אִ֧ישׁ

’îš

. כִּדְרָכָ֛יו

kiḏ·rā·ḵāw

according to his own ways .

אֶשְׁפּ֥וֹט

’eš·pō·wṭ

I will judge

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

’eṯ·ḵem

of you

בֵּ֥ית

bêṯ

､ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל

yiś·rā·’êl.

of Israel ､

and it came to pass

בִּשְׁתֵּ֧י

עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה

[and] ten

שָׁנָ֗ה

šā·nāh,

the year

בָּעֲשִׂרִ֛י

bā·‘ă·śi·rî

in the tenth [month]

בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה

ba·ḥă·miš·šāh

､ לַחֹ֖דֶשׁ

la·ḥō·ḏeš

of the month ､

､ לְגָלוּתֵ֑נוּ

lə·ḡā·lū·ṯê·nū;

of our captivity ､

בָּא־

bā-

אֵלַ֨י

’ê·lay

to me

הַפָּלִ֧יט

hap·pā·lîṭ

one who had escaped

מִירוּשָׁלִַ֛ם

mî·rū·šā·lim

､ לֵאמֹ֖ר

lê·mōr

and said ､

הֻכְּתָ֥ה

huk·kə·ṯāh

has been captured

. הָעִֽיר׃

hā·‘îr.

the city .

וְיַד־

wə·yaḏ-

And the hand

יְהוָה֩

הָיְתָ֨ה

אֵלַ֜י

､ בָּעֶ֗רֶב

bā·‘e·reḇ,

the evening ､

לִפְנֵי֙

lip̄·nê

– בּ֣וֹא

came –

הַפָּלִ֔יט

hap·pā·lîṭ,

the [man] who had escaped

וַיִּפְתַּ֣ח

way·yip̄·taḥ

and He had opened

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ פִּ֔י

pî,

my mouth ､

עַד־

‘aḏ-

בּ֥וֹא

אֵלַ֖י

to me

– בַּבֹּ֑קֶר

bab·bō·qer;

in the morning –

､ וַיִּפָּ֣תַח

way·yip·pā·ṯaḥ

and was opened ､

פִּ֔י

pî,

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and no

נֶאֱלַ֖מְתִּי

ne·’ĕ·lam·tî

. עֽוֹד׃

in

אַדְמַ֤ת

’aḏ·maṯ

the land

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

yiś·rā·’êl

､ אֹמְרִ֣ים

’ō·mə·rîm

､ לֵאמֹ֔ר

lê·mōr,

､ אֶחָד֙

’e·ḥāḏ

[only] one ､

הָיָ֣ה

hā·yāh

אַבְרָהָ֔ם

’aḇ·rā·hām,

וַיִּירַ֖שׁ

way·yî·raš

and he inherited

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

– הָאָ֑רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ;

the land –

וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ

wa·’ă·naḥ·nū

but we [are]

– רַבִּ֔ים

rab·bîm,

many –

לָ֛נוּ

lā·nū

to us

נִתְּנָ֥ה

nit·tə·nāh

הָאָ֖רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ

the land

. לְמוֹרָשָֽׁה׃

lə·mō·w·rā·šāh.

as a possession .

and blood .

תִּשְׁפֹּ֑כוּ

וְהָאָ֖רֶץ

wə·hā·’ā·reṣ

؟ תִּירָֽשׁוּ׃

tî·rā·šū.

Should you possess ؟

עֲמַדְתֶּ֤ם

‘ă·maḏ·tem

עַֽל־

‘al-

on

､ חַרְבְּכֶם֙

ḥar·bə·ḵem

עֲשִׂיתֶ֣ן

‘ă·śî·ṯen

､ תּוֹעֵבָ֔ה

tō·w·‘ê·ḇāh,

abominations ､

וְאִ֛ישׁ

wə·’îš

and one

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

. אֵ֥שֶׁת

’ê·šeṯ

רֵעֵ֖הוּ

rê·‘ê·hū

טִמֵּאתֶ֑ם

ṭim·mê·ṯem;

؟ וְהָאָ֖רֶץ

wə·hā·’ā·reṣ

then the land ؟

. תִּירָֽשׁוּ׃

tî·rā·šū.

Should you possess .

those who [are]

בֶּֽחֳרָבוֹת֙

be·ḥo·rā·ḇō·wṯ

in the ruins

､ בַּחֶ֣רֶב

ba·ḥe·reḇ

by the sword ､

יִפֹּ֔לוּ

yip·pō·lū,

וַֽאֲשֶׁר֙

wa·’ă·šer

and one who [is]

עַל־

‘al-

in

פְּנֵ֣י

pə·nê

הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה

haś·śā·ḏeh,

לַחַיָּ֥ה

la·ḥay·yāh

to the beasts

נְתַתִּ֖יו

nə·ṯat·tîw

I will give

､ לְאָכְל֑וֹ

lə·’ā·ḵə·lōw;

to be devoured ､

וַאֲשֶׁ֛ר

wa·’ă·šer

and those who [are]

בַּמְּצָד֥וֹת

bam·mə·ṣā·ḏō·wṯ

in the strongholds

וּבַמְּעָר֖וֹת

ū·ḇam·mə·‘ā·rō·wṯ

and the caves

בַּדֶּ֥בֶר

bad·de·ḇer

of the pestilence

. יָמֽוּתוּ׃

yā·mū·ṯū.

וְנָתַתִּ֤י

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

And for I will make

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָאָ֙רֶץ֙

hā·’ā·reṣ

the land

שְׁמָמָ֣ה

šə·mā·māh

､ וּמְשַׁמָּ֔ה

ū·mə·šam·māh,

and most ､

– וְנִשְׁבַּ֖ת

wə·niš·baṯ

and shall cease –

גְּא֣וֹן

gə·’ō·wn

עֻזָּ֑הּ

‘uz·zāh;

､ וְשָֽׁמְמ֛וּ

wə·šā·mə·mū

and shall be so desolate ､

הָרֵ֥י

hā·rê

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

מֵאֵ֥ין

mê·’ên

. עוֹבֵֽר׃

‘ō·w·ḇêr.

will pass through .

וְיָדְע֖וּ

wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū

And they shall know

כִּֽי־

kî-

אֲנִ֣י

’ă·nî

I [am]

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

בְּתִתִּ֤י

bə·ṯit·tî

when I have made

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָאָ֙רֶץ֙

hā·’ā·reṣ

the land

שְׁמָמָ֣ה

šə·mā·māh

וּמְשַׁמָּ֔ה

ū·mə·šam·māh,

and most

עַ֥ל

‘al

כָּל־

kāl-

of all

תּוֹעֲבֹתָ֖ם

tō·w·‘ă·ḇō·ṯām

their abominations

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

. עָשֽׂוּ׃

‘ā·śū.

they have committed .

וְאַתָּ֣ה

wə·’at·tāh

And as for you

בֶן־

ḇen-

､ אָדָ֔ם

’ā·ḏām,

of man ､

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

עַמְּךָ֗

‘am·mə·ḵā,

הַנִּדְבָּרִ֤ים

han·niḏ·bā·rîm

בְּךָ֙

bə·ḵā

אֵ֣צֶל

’ê·ṣel

הַקִּיר֔וֹת

haq·qî·rō·wṯ,

וּבְפִתְחֵ֖י

ū·ḇə·p̄iṯ·ḥê

and in the doors

､ הַבָּתִּ֑ים

hab·bāt·tîm;

of the houses ､

וְדִבֶּר־

wə·ḏib·ber-

חַ֣ד

ḥaḏ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

to

､ אַחַ֗ד

’a·ḥaḏ,

one ､

אִ֤ישׁ

’îš

אֶת־

’eṯ-

to

､ אָחִיו֙

’ā·ḥîw

his brother ､

､ לֵאמֹ֔ר

lê·mōr,

､ בֹּֽאוּ־

bō·’ū-

come ､

､ נָ֣א

nā

וְשִׁמְע֔וּ

wə·šim·‘ū,

and hear

מָ֣ה

māh

what [is]

הַדָּבָ֔ר

had·dā·ḇār,

the word

הַיּוֹצֵ֖א

hay·yō·w·ṣê

מֵאֵ֥ת

mê·’êṯ

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

וְיָב֣וֹאוּ

wə·yā·ḇō·w·’ū

אֵ֠לֶיךָ

’ê·le·ḵā

to you

､ כִּמְבוֹא־

kim·ḇō·w-

as do ､

עָ֞ם

‘ām

וְיֵשְׁב֤וּ

wə·yê·šə·ḇū

לְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā

､ עַמִּ֔י

‘am·mî,

[as] My people ､

וְשָֽׁמְעוּ֙

wə·šā·mə·‘ū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ דְּבָרֶ֔יךָ

də·ḇā·re·ḵā,

וְאוֹתָ֖ם

wə·’ō·w·ṯām

but them

לֹ֣א

lō

do not

יַֽעֲשׂ֑וּ

ya·‘ă·śū;

כִּֽי־

kî-

､ עֲגָבִ֤ים

‘ă·ḡā·ḇîm

בְּפִיהֶם֙

bə·p̄î·hem

with their mouth

הֵ֣מָּה

hêm·māh

עֹשִׂ֔ים

‘ō·śîm,

אַחֲרֵ֥י

’a·ḥă·rê

בִצְעָ֖ם

ḇiṣ·‘ām

their [own] gain

לִבָּ֥ם

lib·bām

. הֹלֵֽךְ׃

hō·lêḵ.

[but] pursue .

וְהִנְּךָ֤

wə·hin·nə·ḵā

And indeed you [are]

לָהֶם֙

lā·hem

כְּשִׁ֣יר

kə·šîr

as a song

עֲגָבִ֔ים

‘ă·ḡā·ḇîm,

יְפֵ֥ה

yə·p̄êh

one who has a pleasant

､ ק֖וֹל

qō·wl

וּמֵטִ֣ב

ū·mê·ṭiḇ

and can play well on

– נַגֵּ֑ן

nag·gên;

an instrument –

וְשָֽׁמְעוּ֙

wə·šā·mə·‘ū

and for they hear

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ דְּבָרֶ֔יךָ

də·ḇā·re·ḵā,

וְעֹשִׂ֥ים

wə·‘ō·śîm

but they do

אֵינָ֖ם

’ê·nām

do not

. אוֹתָֽם׃

’ō·w·ṯām.

､ וּבְבֹאָ֑הּ

ū·ḇə·ḇō·’āh;

And when this comes to pass ､

､ הִנֵּ֣ה

hin·nêh

בָאָ֔ה

ḇā·’āh,

it will come

וְיָ֣דְע֔וּ

wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū,

then they will know

כִּ֥י

kî

נָבִ֖יא

nā·ḇî

הָיָ֥ה

hā·yāh

. בְתוֹכָֽם׃

ḇə·ṯō·w·ḵām.
