of the families

בְּנֵֽי־

of the sons

､ גִלְעָד֙

ḡil·‘āḏ

of Gilead ､

בֶּן־

ben-

､ מָכִ֣יר

mā·ḵîr

of Machir ､

בֶּן־

ben-

､ מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה

mə·naš·šeh,

of Manasseh ､

מִֽמִּשְׁפְּחֹ֖ת

of the families

､ יוֹסֵ֑ף

of Joseph ､

וַֽיְדַבְּר֞וּ

וְלִפְנֵ֣י

､ הַנְּשִׂאִ֔ים

my lord [Moses]

צִוָּ֣ה

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

לָתֵ֨ת

lā·ṯêṯ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

הָאָ֧רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ

the land

בְּנַחֲלָ֛ה

bə·na·ḥă·lāh

as an inheritance

בְּגוֹרָ֖ל

bə·ḡō·w·rāl

by lot

לִבְנֵ֣י

liḇ·nê

to the sons

– יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

yiś·rā·’êl;

of Israel –

וַֽאדֹנִי֙

wa·ḏō·nî

and my lord

צֻוָּ֣ה

ṣuw·wāh

בַֽיהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

לָתֵ֗ת

lā·ṯêṯ,

אֶֽת־

’eṯ-

-

נַחֲלַ֛ת

na·ḥă·laṯ

the inheritance

צְלָפְחָ֥ד

ṣə·lā·p̄ə·ḥāḏ

אָחִ֖ינוּ

’ā·ḥî·nū

. לִבְנֹתָֽיו׃

liḇ·nō·ṯāw.

to his daughters .

– וְ֠הָיוּ

wə·hā·yū

And if they are married –

לְאֶחָ֞ד

lə·’e·ḥāḏ

to one

מִבְּנֵ֨י

mib·bə·nê

of the sons

שִׁבְטֵ֥י

šiḇ·ṭê

of the [other] tribes

בְנֵֽי־

ḇə·nê-

of the sons

､ יִשְׂרָאֵל֮

yiś·rā·’êl

of Israel ､

לְנָשִׁים֒

lə·nā·šîm

וְנִגְרְעָ֤ה

wə·niḡ·rə·‘āh

then will be taken

נַחֲלָתָן֙

na·ḥă·lā·ṯān

their inheritance

מִנַּחֲלַ֣ת

min·na·ḥă·laṯ

from the inheritance

､ אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ

’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū,

of our fathers ､

וְנוֹסַ֕ף

wə·nō·w·sap̄

and it will be added

עַ֚ל

‘al

to

נַחֲלַ֣ת

na·ḥă·laṯ

the inheritance

הַמַּטֶּ֔ה

ham·maṭ·ṭeh,

of the tribe

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

תִּהְיֶ֖ינָה

tih·ye·nāh

לָהֶ֑ם

lā·hem;

to

וּמִגֹּרַ֥ל

ū·mig·gō·ral

so from the lot

נַחֲלָתֵ֖נוּ

na·ḥă·lā·ṯê·nū

of our inheritance

. יִגָּרֵֽעַ׃

yig·gā·rê·a‘.

it will be taken .

וְאִם־

wə·’im-

And when

､ יִהְיֶ֣ה

yih·yeh

הַיֹּבֵל֮

hay·yō·ḇêl

לִבְנֵ֣י

liḇ·nê

of the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵל֒

yiś·rā·’êl

וְנֽוֹסְפָה֙

wə·nō·ws·p̄āh

then will be added

נַחֲלָתָ֔ן

na·ḥă·lā·ṯān,

their inheritance

עַ֚ל

‘al

to

נַחֲלַ֣ת

na·ḥă·laṯ

the inheritance

הַמַּטֶּ֔ה

ham·maṭ·ṭeh,

of the tribe

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

– תִּהְיֶ֖ינָה

tih·ye·nāh

לָהֶ֑ם

lā·hem;

to

וּמִֽנַּחֲלַת֙

ū·min·na·ḥă·laṯ

so from the inheritance

מַטֵּ֣ה

maṭ·ṭêh

of the tribe

אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ

’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū,

יִגָּרַ֖ע

yig·gā·ra‘

will be taken away

. נַחֲלָתָֽן׃

their inheritance .

– בְּעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם

whom they think best –

תִּהְיֶ֣ינָה

tih·ye·nāh

. לְנָשִׁ֑ים

､ צְלָפְחָ֑ד
