מַשָּׂ֤א

דְבַר־

ḏə·ḇar-

of the word

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

בְּאֶ֣רֶץ

bə·’e·reṣ

Against the land

､ חַדְרָ֔ךְ

ḥaḏ·rāḵ,

of Hadrach ､

וְדַמֶּ֖שֶׂק

wə·ḏam·me·śeq

מְנֻחָת֑וֹ

mə·nu·ḥā·ṯōw;

its resting place

כִּ֤י

kî

. לַֽיהוָה֙

Yah·weh

Are on Yahweh .

עֵ֣ין

‘ên

The eyes

､ אָדָ֔ם

’ā·ḏām,

of men ､

וְכֹ֖ל

wə·ḵōl

and all

שִׁבְטֵ֥י

šiḇ·ṭê

､ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

of Israel ､

וְגַם־

wə·ḡam-

and

חֲמָ֖ת

ḥă·māṯ

[against] Hamath

תִּגְבָּל־

tiḡ·bāl-

[which] borders

בָּ֑הּ

bāh;

on it

､ צֹ֣ר

ṣōr

and [against] Tyre ､

､ וְצִיד֔וֹן

wə·ṣî·ḏō·wn,

and Sidon ､

כִּ֥י

kî

חָֽכְמָ֖ה

ḥāḵ·māh

. מְאֹֽד׃

mə·’ōḏ.

וַתִּ֥בֶן

wat·ti·ḇen

צֹ֛ר

ṣōr

､ מָצ֖וֹר

mā·ṣō·wr

a tower ､

לָ֑הּ

lāh;

וַתִּצְבָּר־

wat·tiṣ·bār-

and Heaped up

כֶּ֙סֶף֙

ke·sep̄

､ כֶּֽעָפָ֔ר

ke·‘ā·p̄ār,

like the dust ､

וְחָר֖וּץ

wə·ḥā·rūṣ

and gold

כְּטִ֥יט

kə·ṭîṭ

. חוּצֽוֹת׃

ḥū·ṣō·wṯ.

of the streets .

､ הִנֵּ֤ה

hin·nêh

אֲדֹנָי֙

’ă·ḏō·nāy

､ יֽוֹרִשֶׁ֔נָּה

yō·w·ri·šen·nāh,

will cast her out ､

וְהִכָּ֥ה

wə·hik·kāh

and He will destroy

– בַיָּ֖ם

ḇay·yām

in the sea –

חֵילָ֑הּ

ḥê·lāh;

וְהִ֖יא

wə·hî

and she

בָּאֵ֥שׁ

bā·’êš

. תֵּאָכֵֽל׃

tê·’ā·ḵêl.

will be devoured .

תֵּרֶ֨א

tê·re

אַשְׁקְל֜וֹן

’aš·qə·lō·wn

– וְתִירָ֗א

wə·ṯî·rā,

and fear –

וְעַזָּה֙

wə·‘az·zāh

and Gaza

､ וְתָחִ֣יל

wə·ṯā·ḥîl

and shall be sorrowful ､

､ מְאֹ֔ד

mə·’ōḏ,

very ､

– וְעֶקְר֖וֹן

wə·‘eq·rō·wn

and Ekron –

כִּֽי־

kî-

– הֹבִ֣ישׁ

hō·ḇîš

He dried up –

מֶבָּטָ֑הּ

meb·bā·ṭāh;

her expectation

וְאָ֤בַד

wə·’ā·ḇaḏ

and shall perish

מֶ֙לֶךְ֙

me·leḵ

the king

מֵֽעַזָּ֔ה

mê·‘az·zāh,

וְאַשְׁקְל֖וֹן

wə·’aš·qə·lō·wn

לֹ֥א

lō

not

. תֵשֵֽׁב׃

ṯê·šêḇ.

shall be inhabited .

וְיָשַׁ֥ב

wə·yā·šaḇ

And shall settle

מַמְזֵ֖ר

mam·zêr

､ בְּאַשְׁדּ֑וֹד

bə·’aš·dō·wḏ;

in Ashdod ､

וְהִכְרַתִּ֖י

wə·hiḵ·rat·tî

and I will cut off

גְּא֥וֹן

gə·’ō·wn

. פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃

pə·liš·tîm.

of the Philistines .

וַהֲסִרֹתִ֨י

wa·hă·si·rō·ṯî

And I will take away

דָמָ֜יו

ḏā·māw

､ מִפִּ֗יו

mip·pîw,

from his mouth ､

וְשִׁקֻּצָיו֙

wə·šiq·qu·ṣāw

and the abominations

מִבֵּ֣ין

mib·bên

. שִׁנָּ֔יו

šin·nāw,

､ וְנִשְׁאַ֥ר

wə·niš·’ar

But he who remains ､

גַּם־

gam-

､ ה֖וּא

hū

he [shall be] ､

､ לֵֽאלֹהֵ֑ינוּ

lê·lō·hê·nū;

for our God ､

וְהָיָה֙

wə·hā·yāh

and shall be

כְּאַלֻּ֣ף

kə·’al·lup̄

､ בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה

bî·hū·ḏāh,

in Judah ､

וְעֶקְר֖וֹן

wə·‘eq·rō·wn

. כִּיבוּסִֽי׃

kî·ḇū·sî.

like a Jebusite .

וְחָנִ֨יתִי

wə·ḥā·nî·ṯî

And I will camp

לְבֵיתִ֤י

lə·ḇê·ṯî

around My house

､ מִצָּבָה֙

miṣ·ṣā·ḇāh

because of the army ､

､ מֵעֹבֵ֣ר

mê·‘ō·ḇêr

because of him who passes by ､

– וּמִשָּׁ֔ב

ū·miš·šāḇ,

and him who returns –

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

and No

יַעֲבֹ֧ר

ya·‘ă·ḇōr

עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם

‘ă·lê·hem

､ ע֖וֹד

‘ō·wḏ

more ､

נֹגֵ֑שׂ

nō·ḡêś;

כִּ֥י

kî

עַתָּ֖ה

‘at·tāh

רָאִ֥יתִי

rā·’î·ṯî

. בְעֵינָֽי׃

ḇə·‘ê·nāy.

with My eyes .

Zion's Coming King

גִּילִ֨י

gî·lî

､ מְאֹ֜ד

mə·’ōḏ

בַּת־

baṯ-

– צִיּ֗וֹן

ṣî·yō·wn,

of Zion –

､ הָרִ֙יעִי֙

hā·rî·‘î

בַּ֣ת

baṯ

! יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם

yə·rū·šā·lim,

､ הִנֵּ֤ה

hin·nêh

מַלְכֵּךְ֙

mal·kêḵ

יָ֣בוֹא

yā·ḇō·w

לָ֔ךְ

lāḵ,

to you

､ צַדִּ֥יק

ṣad·dîq

just ､

– וְנוֹשָׁ֖ע

wə·nō·wō·šā‘

and having salvation –

ה֑וּא

hū;

He [is]

､ עָנִי֙

‘ā·nî

וְרֹכֵ֣ב

wə·rō·ḵêḇ

עַל־

‘al-

on

､ חֲמ֔וֹר

ḥă·mō·wr,

a donkey ､

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and

עַ֖יִר

‘a·yir

בֶּן־

ben-

the foal

. אֲתֹנֽוֹת׃

’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ.

of a donkey .

וְהִכְרַתִּי־

wə·hiḵ·rat·tî-

And I will cut off

רֶ֣כֶב

re·ḵeḇ

מֵאֶפְרַ֗יִם

mê·’ep̄·ra·yim,

וְסוּס֙

wə·sūs

and the horse

מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

mî·rū·šā·lim,

– וְנִכְרְתָה֙

wə·niḵ·rə·ṯāh

and shall be cut off –

קֶ֣שֶׁת

qe·šeṯ

the bow

מִלְחָמָ֔ה

mil·ḥā·māh,

וְדִבֶּ֥ר

wə·ḏib·ber

and He shall speak

שָׁל֖וֹם

šā·lō·wm

– לַגּוֹיִ֑ם

lag·gō·w·yim;

to the nations –

וּמָשְׁלוֹ֙

ū·mā·šə·lōw

and His dominion [shall be]

מִיָּ֣ם

mî·yām

עַד־

‘aḏ-

to

､ יָ֔ם

yām,

sea ､

וּמִנָּהָ֖ר

ū·min·nā·hār

and from the River

עַד־

‘aḏ-

to

אַפְסֵי־

’ap̄·sê-

the ends

. אָֽרֶץ׃

’ā·reṣ.

of the earth .

､ גַּם־

gam-

As for also ､

אַ֣תְּ

’at

בְּדַם־

bə·ḏam-

because of the blood

בְּרִיתֵ֗ךְ

bə·rî·ṯêḵ,

of your covenant

שִׁלַּ֤חְתִּי

šil·laḥ·tî

I will set free

אֲסִירַ֙יִךְ֙‪‬

’ă·sî·ra·yiḵ

מִבּ֔וֹר

mib·bō·wr,

אֵ֥ין

’ên

מַ֖יִם

ma·yim

. בּֽוֹ׃

bōw.

שׁ֚וּבוּ

ū·ḇū

､ לְבִצָּר֔וֹן

lə·ḇiṣ·ṣā·rō·wn,

to the stronghold ､

אֲסִירֵ֖י

’ă·sî·rê

– הַתִּקְוָ֑ה

hat·tiq·wāh;

of hope –

גַּם־

gam-

הַיּ֕וֹם

hay·yō·wm

מַגִּ֥יד

mag·gîḏ

מִשְׁנֶ֖ה

miš·neh

אָשִׁ֥יב

’ā·šîḇ

[That] I will restore

. לָֽךְ׃

lāḵ.

to you .

כִּֽי־

kî-

דָרַ֨כְתִּי

ḏā·raḵ·tî

לִ֜י

lî

My [bow]

יְהוּדָ֗ה

yə·hū·ḏāh,

קֶ֚שֶׁת

qe·šeṯ

the bow

מִלֵּ֣אתִי

mil·lê·ṯî

､ אֶפְרַ֔יִם

’ep̄·ra·yim,

with Ephraim ､

וְעוֹרַרְתִּ֤י

wə·‘ō·w·rar·tî

and raised up

､ בָנַ֙יִךְ֙

ḇā·na·yiḵ

､ צִיּ֔וֹן

ṣî·yō·wn,

Zion ､

עַל־

‘al-

､ בָּנַ֖יִךְ

bā·na·yiḵ

､ יָוָ֑ן

yā·wān;

וְשַׂמְתִּ֖יךְ

wə·śam·tîḵ

כְּחֶ֥רֶב

kə·ḥe·reḇ

. גִּבּֽוֹר׃

gib·bō·wr.

of a mighty man .

The Lord will Save His People

וַֽיהוָה֙

Yah·weh

עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם

‘ă·lê·hem

יֵֽרָאֶ֔ה

yê·rā·’eh,

will be seen

וְיָצָ֥א

wə·yā·ṣā

and will go forth

– כַבָּרָ֖ק

ḵab·bā·rāq

like lightning –

חִצּ֑וֹ

ḥiṣ·ṣōw;

וַֽאדֹנָ֤י

wa·ḏō·nāy

and the Lord

יְהֹוִה֙

Yah·weh

､ בַּשּׁוֹפָ֣ר

baš·šō·w·p̄ār

the trumpet ､

יִתְקָ֔ע

yiṯ·qā‘,

will blow

וְהָלַ֖ךְ

wə·hā·laḵ

and go

בְּסַעֲר֥וֹת

bə·sa·‘ă·rō·wṯ

with whirlwinds from

. תֵּימָֽן׃

tê·mān.

the south .

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

צְבָאוֹת֮

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ

יָגֵ֣ן

yā·ḡên

עֲלֵיהֶם֒

‘ă·lê·hem

､ וְאָכְל֗וּ

wə·’ā·ḵə·lū,

and they shall devour ､

וְכָֽבְשׁוּ֙

wə·ḵā·ḇə·šū

אַבְנֵי־

’aḇ·nê-

– קֶ֔לַע

qe·la‘,

with slingstones –

､ וְשָׁת֥וּ

wə·šā·ṯū

and they shall drink ､

הָמ֖וּ

hā·mū

[and] roar

כְּמוֹ־

kə·mōw-

as if with

– יָ֑יִן

yā·yin;

wine –

וּמָֽלְאוּ֙

ū·mā·lə·’ū

and they shall be filled [with blood]

､ כַּמִּזְרָ֔ק

kam·miz·rāq,

like basins ､

כְּזָוִיּ֖וֹת

kə·zā·wî·yō·wṯ

Like the corners

. מִזְבֵּֽחַ׃

miz·bê·aḥ.

of the altar .

וְֽהוֹשִׁיעָ֞ם

wə·hō·wō·šî·‘ām

And will save them

יְהוָ֧ה

Yah·weh

אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֛ם

’ĕ·lō·hê·hem

בַּיּ֥וֹם

bay·yō·wm

in day

הַה֖וּא

ha·hū

כְּצֹ֣אן

kə·ṣōn

as the flock

– עַמּ֑וֹ

‘am·mōw;

of His people –

כִּ֚י

kî

אַבְנֵי־

’aḇ·nê-

they [shall be like] the jewels

､ נֵ֔זֶר

nê·zer,

of a crown ､

מִֽתְנוֹסְס֖וֹת

miṯ·nō·ws·sō·wṯ

Lifted like a banner

עַל־

‘al-

. אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃

’aḏ·mā·ṯōw.

כִּ֥י

kî

מַה־

mah-

､ טּוּב֖וֹ

ṭū·ḇōw

[great] is its goodness ､

וּמַה־

ū·mah-

and how

! יָפְי֑וֹ

yā·p̄ə·yōw;

[great] its beauty !

דָּגָן֙

dā·ḡān

בַּֽחוּרִ֔ים

ba·ḥū·rîm,

וְתִיר֖וֹשׁ

wə·ṯî·rō·wōš

､ יְנוֹבֵ֥ב

yə·nō·w·ḇêḇ

shall make thrive ､

. בְּתֻלֽוֹת׃

bə·ṯu·lō·wṯ.

the young women .
