'House of David' in the Bible

So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, [saying], And LORD will require it at the hand of David's enemies.

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. And David grew stronger and stronger, but the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.

So Israel rebelled against the house of David to this day.

However LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons always.
