'O God' in the Bible
Therefore, concerning the eating of food sacrificed to idols, we know that "an idol [is] nothing in the world" and that "[there is] no God except one."
But food does not bring us close to God. For neither if we eat do we have more, nor if we do not eat do we lack.
[No], but that [the things] which they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to become sharers with demons.
You judge {for yourselves}: is it fitting for a woman to pray to God [with her head] uncovered?
For the one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, because no one understands, but by the Spirit he speaks mysteries.
I give thanks to God [that] I speak with tongues more than all of you,
But if there is no interpreter, he must be silent in the church, but let him speak to himself and to God.
But thanks [be] to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
