'Put to Shame' in the Bible
When he said this, all his adversaries were put to shame; and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.
as it is written: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone that will make men stumble, and a rock that will make them fall; and he who believes in him will not be put to shame."
The scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame."
For if I have boasted to him about you, I was not put to shame; but just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting before Titus has proved true.
For even if I boast somewhat further about our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for destroying you, I shall not be put to shame.
and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
For it stands in scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and he who believes in him will not be put to shame."
and keep a clear conscience, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
