For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you,





Yet I wish that all men were even as I myself am. However, each man has his own gift from God, one in this manner, and another in that.





The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father David’s earlier days and did not seek the Baals,

As for you, if you will walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you and will keep My statutes and My ordinances,

He walked in the way of his father Asa and did not depart from it, doing right in the sight of the Lord.

He did right in the sight of the Lord according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

He did right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Uzziah had done; however he did not enter the temple of the Lord. But the people continued acting corruptly.


Thus David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and he struck the Philistine and killed him; but there was no sword in David's hand. Then David ran and stood over the Philistine and took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. The men of Israel and Judah arose and shouted and pursued the Philistines as far as the valley, and to the gates of Ekron And the slain Philistines lay along the way to Shaaraim, even to Gath and Ekron.


Then Jonathan said to the young man who was carrying his armor, "Come and let us cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; perhaps the LORD will work for us, for the LORD is not restrained to save by many or by few." His armor bearer said to him, "Do all that is in your heart; turn yourself, and here I am with you according to your desire."


Having said this, he took bread and gave thanks to God in the presence of all, and he broke it and began to eat. All of them were encouraged and they themselves also took food.


For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.


But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.


He said to them, “Look at me and do likewise. And behold, when I come to the outskirts of the camp, do as I do.
