But from the beginning of creation, "God made them male and female.' That's why "a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they're no longer two, but one flesh.
Because sexual immorality is so rampant, every man should have his own wife, and every woman should have her own husband. A husband should fulfill his obligation to his wife, and a wife should do the same for her husband. A wife does not have authority over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband doesn't have authority over his own body, but his wife does.
Jesus Christ » History of » Interprets the law concerning marriage and divorce (in peraea)
Some Pharisees came to him in order to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?" He answered them, "Haven't you read that the one who made them at the beginning "made them male and female' and said, "That is why a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? read more.
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, man must never separate." They asked him, "Why, then, did Moses order us "to give a certificate of divorce and divorce her'?" He told them, "It was because of your hardness of heart that Moses allowed you to divorce your wives. But from the beginning it was not this way. I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery." His disciples asked him, "If that is the relationship of a man with his wife, it's not worth getting married!" "Not everyone can accept this saying," he replied, "except those to whom celibacy has been granted, because some men are celibate from birth, while some are celibate because they have been made that way by others. Still others are celibate because they have made themselves that way for the sake of the kingdom from heaven. Let anyone accept this who can."

You know that your bodies belong to the Messiah, don't you? Should I take what belongs to the Messiah and unite them with a prostitute? Certainly not! You know that the person who unites himself with a prostitute becomes one body with her, don't you? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."
