If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him.



“Have I rejoiced at the extinction of my enemy,
Or exulted when evil befell him?


If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For you will heap burning coals on his head, And the LORD will reward you.






Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.




Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, they came each one from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to sympathize with him and comfort him.

Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble.
