Greet it as pure joy, my brothers, when you come across any sort of trial, sure that the sterling temper of your faith produces endurance; only, let your endurance be a finished product, so that you may be finished and complete, with never a defect.

We know also that those who love God, those who have been called in terms of his purpose, have his aid and interest in everything.

Beloved, do not be surprised at the ordeal that has come to test you, as though some foreign experience befell you. You are sharing what Christ suffered; so rejoice in it, that you may also rejoice and exult when his glory is revealed.

Keep cool, keep awake. Your enemy the devil prowls like a roaring lion, looking out for someone to devour.
