And he made him no reply to even a single accusation, so that the governor was greatly surprised.
And they all spoke well of him and were astonished at the winning words that fell from his lips, and they said, "Is he not Joseph's son?"
When Jesus had finished this discourse, the crowds were astounded at his teaching, for he taught them like one who had authority and not like their scribes.

This astonished the Jews. "How is it that this man can read?" they said, "when he has never gone to school?"
And when they heard it they were amazed, and they went away and left him.
And Jesus said, "Pay the emperor what belongs to the emperor, and pay God what belongs to God!" And they were astonished at him.
So they could not fasten on what he said before the people, and they were amazed at his answer, and said nothing more.
But when the disciples heard this, they were completely astounded and said, "Then who can be saved?"

But they could not yet believe it for sheer joy and they were amazed. And he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"
For the Father loves the Son and lets him see everything that he himself is doing, and he will let him see greater deeds than these, to make you wonder.
when on that Day he comes to be honored in his people, and wondered at in all who believe in him??ecause our testimony has been confirmed in you.
