And He died for all, that those who live might no longer live to themselves, but to Him who died for them and rose again.

But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, in order to suffer death, that by the grace of God He might taste death for every man, crowned with glory and honor.

In this we know his love, that He laid down his life for us: and we should be ready to lay down our lives for the brethren.

For in the first place I delivered to you, that which I also received, to wit, that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures:

who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

For that which was impossible for the law to do, and in which it was weak through the corruption of the flesh, God by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sacrifice for sin, hath done; that is, hath condemned sin in the flesh:

who gave himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from the present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father:

As Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust (that He might introduce us to God) being indeed put to death in the flesh, but raised to life by the Spirit:

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from wrath through Him.

And they sung a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open its seals; for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood, out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;

ye, who were formerly afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

knowing that ye were redeemed from your vain conversation learned by tradition from your fathers, not with corruptible things, as silver and gold; but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

but if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have communion with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they who come out of great affliction, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

whom God hath appointed to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, in the remission of past sins, according to the forbearance of God;

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new mass, without leaven. For our paschal lamb, even Christ, was slain for us.

even as Christ hath loved us, and given Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of sweet perfume.

Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins.

And ye know that He was manifested, to take away our sins: and in Him there is no sin.

For such an high-priest was meet for us, who was holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and higher than the heavens; who hath no need, as the Levitical high-priests had, daily to offer sacrifices first for his own sins, and then for those of the people: for this He did once for all, in offering up Himself. For the law appointeth men high-priests, who have infirmity; but the oath, recorded since the law, appointeth the Son to be priest for ever, being fully perfected for it.

But now He hath obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which is established upon better promises. For if the first covenant had been unexceptionable, there had been no room for a second:

And on this account He is the mediator of a new covenant, that undergoing death for the redemption of transgressions against the first covenant, they that are called might receive the promise of an eternal inheritance.

Now the sum of the things that have been said is this, that we have such an high-priest, who is sat down at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in the heavens; a minister of holy things, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord hath raised, and not man.

For Christ is not entered into holy places made with hands, which were but types of the true ones; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

nor by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purification of the flesh; how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself spotless to God, purify your conscience from dead works, that ye may serve the living God?

And indeed every priest under the law standeth daily ministring, and frequently offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: but He having offered one sacrifice for sins, is for ever sat down at the right hand of God; waiting for the future, till his enemies be put under his feet.read more.
For by one offering He hath perfected for ever those that are sanctified.

Having therefore, brethren, free admission into the holy places by the blood of Jesus, the new and living way which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say,

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid! how shall we, who are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into his death?read more.
Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life: for if we have been planted together in the resemblance of his death, so shall we be also of his resurrection. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer be inslaved to sin: for he that is thus dead with Christ, is delivered from sin.

And thus, my brethren, ye also are dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye might become another's, even his who is raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit unto God. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions while we were under the law operated in our bodies so as to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead by which we were bound, that we might serve God in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ; yet I live, though no longer I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave up himself for me.

But God forbid that I should glory, unless in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.

and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That in the ages to come He might shew the superabundant riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us through Christ Jesus.
