And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, "Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times."
As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of John. You shall be called Cephas" (which means Peter).
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!"
Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
Jesus answered him, "Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these."
When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been in this condition for a long time, he said to him, "Do you want to be made well?"
When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing by, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold your son!"
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at the hardness of their hearts, and said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "You lack one thing; go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."
Then Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!"
Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God."
And he looked around at them all, and said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He did so, and his hand was restored.
He lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: "Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
And when he drew near and saw the city he wept over it,
Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said to them, "What do you seek?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?"
Then Jesus lifted up his eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these people may eat?"
Seeing the crowds, he went up on a mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him.
So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son also may glorify you,
