Take you the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male individually; From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: you and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

And the children of Benjamin numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who numbered seven hundred chosen men. Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men, left-handed; every one could sling stones at a hair's breadth, and not miss. And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.

The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zerahites: and in his division were twenty and four thousand. The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his division were twenty and four thousand. The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel: and in his division were twenty and four thousand.

And out of the city he took an officer that was in charge over the men of war, and five men of them that had been in the king's presence, who were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the army, who mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:

And king Solomon raised forced labor out of all Israel; and the forced labor was thirty thousand men. And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by shifts: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the forced labor. And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bore burdens, and fourscore thousand quarried stone in the mountains;

And Solomon selected threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to quarry in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.

And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel, But of their descendants, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon put to forced labor until this day.
