And the names of the twelve apostles are these; First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
And when Jesus had finished his charge to his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and preach in their cities.
If any one comes to me, and hates not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and still more his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
And his disciples came and said to him, Why do you speak to them in parables?
When, therefore, he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus spoke.
Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed on him, If you continue in my word, you are my disciples indeed;
The disciples said to him, If the case of a man is thus with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.
From this time many of his disciples went away from following him, and walked no more with him.

The report then went out among the brothers that this disciple would not die; but Jesus said not to him, He shall not die; but, If I wish him to continue till I come, what is that to you?

And Jesus calling his disciples, said, I pity the multitude, for it is now three days that they have continued with me, and they have nothing to eat; I will not dismiss them fasting lest they faint by the way.
And Jesus turning around, and seeing them following, said to them, What do you seek? And they said to him, Rabbi, which interpreted signifies Teacher, where do you stay?
And his disciples James and John seeing it, said, Lord, do you wish us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume them?
And he said to the disciples, The days will come when you shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and shall not see it.
And he called the twelve, and sent them out two and two, and gave them power over impure spirits;
Simon Peter said to them, I am going a fishing. They said to him, We will also go with you. They went out and entered into the ship; and on that night caught nothing,
And he said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishermen of men.
And John spoke to him, saying, Teacher, we saw some one casting out demons in your name, who follows not us, and we forbade him.
And another also said, Lord, I will follow you, but permit me first to bid farewell to those in my house.
Simon Peter, and Thomas called the Twin, and Nathaniel who was from Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.
And he was in the stern, on the pillow, asleep. And they awoke him and said to him, Teacher, do you not care that we perish?
