"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the Law, justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.
But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and adulterous.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea, that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she has need from you, for she has been a helper of many and of myself also.
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of God's varied grace.

I am not speaking this as a command, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. And in this matter I give my advice: it is best for you now to complete what a year ago you began not only to do but to desire. Now finish the work, so that your readiness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.
You yourselves also know, Philippians, that in the first preaching of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you only; for even in Thessalonica you sent me a gift once and again for my needs.
