Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

For, I think that God has exhibited us apostles last of all, like men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are distinguished, but we are without honor. To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and we are poorly clothed, and roughly treated, and homeless; and we toil, working with our own hands. When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure; when we are slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become, and are now, as the scum of the world, the refuse of all things. I do not write this to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, be imitators of me.
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who live according to the pattern you have in us.
For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone's bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we worked night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves an example for you to follow.
But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to practice their religion in regard to their own family and to make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, knowing from whom you learned it,
And the things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?
