And Jesus saith to him, "Verily I say to you, that you today, in this night, before the cock crows twice, will thrice deny Me." But he kept saying with great vehemence, "If I must die with Thee, I will not deny Thee!" And in like manner also said they all.
But Peter, answering, said to Him, "If all should be made to stumble because of Thee, I will never be made to stumble." Jesus said to him, "Verily I say to you, that this night, before a cock crows, you will thrice deny Me." Peter says to Him, "Even if I must die with Thee, I will not deny Thee." Likewise also said all the disciples.
Peter says to Him, "Why can I not follow Thee even now? I will lay down my soul for Thee."
Take heed, therefore, lest the light in you be darkness.
