There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.

Who will lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God who justifies: who is he that condemns? It is Christ who died, and rather who is risen, who is on the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding in our behalf. For the one having been called in the Lord, being a slave, is the Lord's freeman: likewise the one having been called, while free, is the slave of Christ. You have been bought with a price; be not the slaves of men.

Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God except one. For if indeed there are those who are called gods, whether in heaven or upon the earth; as there are gods many, and lords many; but there is to us one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we in him. But there is not knowledge in all people: but some, with the conscience of the idol even until now, eat as if it was sacrificed to the idol; and their conscience being weak is polluted. But meat will not commend us to God; neither if we eat are we the better; nor if we eat not are we the worse. See lest this liberty of yours may become a stumblingblock to the weak. If indeed meat causes my brother to stumble, I never eat any more meat, in order that I may not lay a stumblingblock in the way of my brother.

But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there those holding the teachings of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumblingblock before the sons of Israel, and to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.
