and now I no longer do it, but the sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is in my flesh, there dwells no good. For to wish is present with me, but to do the good is not; for the good which I wish I do not, but the evil which I wish not this I do. But if what I wish not this I do, I no longer do it, but sin which dwells in me.
Know you not that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, his servants you are whom you obey, whether of sin in death or of obedience in righteousness?
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord; therefore I myself with the mind serve the law of God, and with the flesh the law of sin.
but exhort one another daily, while it is called to-day, that no one of you may be hardened by the deception of sin;
because having known God they glorified him not as God neither were thankful, but became vain in their reasonings and their ignorant mind was darkened.

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, For this same cause I raised you up, to show my power in you, and that my name may be declared in all the earth. He therefore has mercy on whom he will, and whom he will he hardens.
harden not your hearts as in the provocation, in the day of the trial in the wilderness,
again he defines a certain day, To-day, saying in David, after so long a time, as it was said before, To-day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
