If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all that were hearing the word. And the believers of the circumcision, as many as came with Peter, were amazed, that the gift of the Holy Ghost was poured out on the Gentiles also.
If then God gave to them the same gift as even to us, having believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that could withstand God?
And God who knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving the Holy Ghost to them, even as also to us.
