For whoever gives you even a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, in solemn truth I tell you, that he shall certainly not lose his reward.

We love because He loved us first. If any one says, "I love God," and yet hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot possibly love God, whom he has not seen. And we have this command from God: HE WHO LOVES GOD IS TO LOVE HIS BROTHER ALSO.
Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God; and every one who loves the Father, loves him also who is the Father's Child. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For love to God means obeying his commandments; and his commandments are not irksome.
And this is love, that we should lead our lives according to his commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should pass your life in love.
