Then I saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads, and ten horns; upon his horns were ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. and the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority. and I saw one of his heads, as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world went wondring after the beast.read more.

who by the instigation of satan will make his parade with various arts, with fallacious signs and prodigies, and with all the vile methods of imposture, to the ruin of those, who are averse to the truth, by which they might be saved.

and the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles in his favour, by which he seduc'd those that had received the mark of the beast, and those that worshipped his image. these were both cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
