And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
For as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;read more.
if service, let us use it in our serving; he who teaches, in his teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Now you are the body of Christ, and individually members of it.
And he put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all things for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
So husbands ought also to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of his body.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful.
