Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and reviling, be put away from you, with all wickedness; and become kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God also in Christ forgave you.

"Ye heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy;' but I say to you, Love your enemies; and pray for those who persecute you;

"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies; do good to those who hate you; bless those who curse you; pray for those who revile you.

Bless those who persecute you; bless, and curse not.

But whosoever possesses the goods of the world, and beholds his brother having need, and shuts up his compassion from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

And the Lord answered him, and said, "Hypocrites! does not each one of you, on the sabbath, loose his ox or his ass from the stall; and, leading it away, water it?

and He said to them, "Who of you shall have an ass or an ox fall into a well, and he will not straight-way draw him up on a sabbath day?"

being hospitable to one another, without murmuring;

Then will He say also to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, ye accursed! into the eternal fire which was prepared for the Devil and his angels; for I hungered, and ye did not give Me to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave Me no drink; I was a stranger, and ye took Me not in; naked, and ye did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and ye did not look after Me.'

and He sent forth messengers before His face; and, journeying onward, they entered into a village of Samaritans, so as to prepare for Him. And they did not receive Him, because His face was as if He were going to Jerusalem.

Do not forget to show love for strangers; for thereby some entertained angels unawares.

If a brother or a sister be naked, and in want of daily food, and one of you say to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," but ye give them not the things needful for the body, what does it profit?

and yet He left not Himself without witness, doing good, giving you rains from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness."

Or, do you despise the riches of His kindness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God is leading you to repentance?

Behold, then, God's kindness and severity; toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise, you also shall be cut off.

that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
