Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away from them .

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more'shall not we escape who turn away from him that warneth from heaven:

And the tongue is a fire: the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beasts and birds, of creeping things and things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind.read more.
But the tongue can no man tame; it is a restless evil, it is full of deadly poison.

For, He that would love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile:

Mine eyes are ever toward Jehovah; For he will pluck my feet out of the net.

But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. It is as when a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch.read more.

Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God.
