Habitually practise these duties, and be absorbed in them; so that your growing proficiency in them may be evident to all. Be on your guard as to yourself and your teaching. Persevere in these things; for by doing this you will make certain your own salvation and that of your hearers.
For this reason, brethren, be all the more in earnest to make sure that God has called you and chosen you; for it is certain that so long as you practise these things, you will never stumble.
Let us not abate our courage in doing what is right; for in due time we shall reap a reward, if we do not faint.
