'Broken' in the Bible

No one in it is weary or stumbles,None slumbers or sleeps;Nor is the belt at its waist undone,Nor its sandal strap broken.

“Be broken, O peoples, and be shattered;And give ear, all remote places of the earth.Gird yourselves, yet be shattered;Gird yourselves, yet be shattered.

“Many will stumble over them,Then they will fall and be broken;They will even be snared and caught.”

So it will be in that day, that his burden will be removed from your shoulders and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be broken because of fatness.

“The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked,The scepter of rulers

“Do not rejoice, O Philistia, all of you,Because the rod that struck you is broken;For from the serpent’s root a viper will come out,And its fruit will be a flying serpent.

The city of chaos is broken down;Every house is shut up so that none may enter.

The earth is broken asunder,The earth is split through,The earth is shaken violently.

When its limbs are dry, they are broken off;Women come and make a fire with them,For they are not a people of discernment,Therefore their Maker will not have compassion on them.And their Creator will not be gracious to them.

So the word of the Lord to them will be,“Order on order, order on order,Line on line, line on line,A little here, a little there,”That they may go and stumble backward, be broken, snared and taken captive.

The highways are desolate, the traveler has ceased,He has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities,He has no regard for man.

“Behold, My servants will shout joyfully with a glad heart,But you will cry out with a heavy heart,And you will wail with a broken spirit.
