'Brought' in the Bible
Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth;For the Lord speaks,“Sons I have reared and brought up,But they have revolted against Me.
The expression of their faces bears witness against them,And they display their sin like Sodom;They do not even conceal it.Woe to them!For they have brought evil on themselves.
For those who guide this people are leading them astray;And those who are guided by them are brought to confusion.
For he has said,“By the power of my hand and by my wisdom I did this,For I have understanding;And I removed the boundaries of the peoplesAnd plundered their treasures,And like a mighty man I brought down their inhabitants,
‘Your pomp and the music of your harpsHave been brought down to Sheol;Maggots are spread out as your bed beneath youAnd worms are your covering.’
At that time a gift of homage will be brought to the Lord of hostsFrom a people tall and smooth,Even from a people feared far and wide,A powerful and oppressive nation,Whose land the rivers divide—To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, even Mount Zion.
Be ashamed, O Sidon;For the sea speaks, the stronghold of the sea, saying,“I have neither travailed nor given birth,I have neither brought up young men nor reared virgins.”
“For He has brought low those who dwell on high, the unassailable city;He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He casts it to the dust.
Then you will be brought low;From the earth you will speak,And from the dust where you are prostrateYour words will come.Your voice will also be like that of a spirit from the ground,And your speech will whisper from the dust.
“Have you not heard?Long ago I did it,From ancient times I planned it.Now I have brought it to pass,That you should turn fortified cities into ruinous heaps.
“You have not brought to Me the sheep of your burnt offerings,Nor have you honored Me with your sacrifices.I have not burdened you with offerings,Nor wearied you with incense.
“I, even I, have spoken; indeed I have called him,I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful.
And He saw that there was no man,And was astonished that there was no one to intercede;Then His own arm brought salvation to Him,And His righteousness upheld Him.
“I looked, and there was no one to help,And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold;So My own arm brought salvation to Me,And My wrath upheld Me.
Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses.Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock?Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in the midst of them,
“Before she travailed, she brought forth;Before her pain came, she gave birth to a boy.
“Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?Can a land be born in one day?Can a nation be brought forth all at once?As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons.
