'Day' in the Bible
Be not careful therefore for the morrow, for the morrow shall be careful about itself. Sufficient to the day is its own evil.
Many shall say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied through thy name, and through thy name cast out demons, and through thy name done many works of power?
And thou, Capernaum, who hast been raised up to heaven, shalt be brought down even to hades. For if the works of power which have taken place in thee, had taken place in Sodom, it had remained until this day.
And that same day Jesus went out from the house and sat down by the sea.
From that time Jesus began to shew to his disciples that he must go away to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised.
and they shall kill him; and the third day he shall be raised up. And they were greatly grieved.
And having agreed with the workmen for a denarius the day, he sent them into his vineyard.
But about the eleventh hour, having gone out, he found others standing, and says to them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
saying, These last have worked one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the heat.
and they will deliver him up to the nations to mock and to scourge and to crucify, and the third day he shall rise again.
On that day came to him Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection; and they demanded of him,
And no one was able to answer him a word, nor did any one dare from that day to question him any more.
But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of the heavens, but my Father alone.
For as they were in the days which were before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day on which Noe entered into the ark,
the lord of that bondman shall come in a day when he does not expect it, and in an hour he knows not of,
Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
Now on the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
But I say to you, that I will not at all drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.
Wherefore that field has been called Blood-field unto this day.
Command therefore that the sepulchre be secured until the third day, lest his disciples should come and steal him away, and say to the people, He is risen from the dead; and the last error shall be worse than the first.
Now late on sabbath, as it was the dusk of the next day after sabbath, came Mary of Magdala and the other Mary to look at the sepulchre.
And they took the money and did as they had been taught. And this report is current among the Jews until this day.
