'Discipline' in the Bible
Out of the heavens He let you hear His voice to discipline you; and on earth He let you see His great fire, and you heard His words from the midst of the fire.
Know this day that I am not speaking with your sons who have not known and who have not seen the discipline of the Lord your God—His greatness, His mighty hand and His outstretched arm,
Whereas my father loaded you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.’”
and he spoke to them according to the advice of the young men, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.”

He spoke to them according to the advice of the young men, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.”
“Behold, how happy is the man whom God reproves,So do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
“For you hate discipline,And you cast My words behind you.
My son, do not reject the discipline of the LordOr loathe His reproof,
For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light;And reproofs for discipline are the way of life
Suddenly he follows herAs an ox goes to the slaughter,Or as one in fetters to the discipline of a fool,
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,But he who hates reproof is stupid.
A wise son accepts his father’s discipline,But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
Poverty and shame will come to him who neglects discipline,But he who regards reproof will be honored.
A fool rejects his father’s discipline,But he who regards reproof is sensible.
Grievous punishment is for him who forsakes the way;He who hates reproof will die.
He who neglects discipline despises himself,But he who listens to reproof acquires understanding.
Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it,But the discipline of fools is folly.
Discipline your son while there is hope,And do not desire his death.
Listen to counsel and accept discipline,That you may be wise the rest of your days.
Cease listening, my son, to discipline,And you will stray from the words of knowledge.
Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;The rod of discipline will remove it far from him.
Apply your heart to disciplineAnd your ears to words of knowledge.
Do not hold back discipline from the child,Although you strike him with the rod, he will not die.
But they are altogether stupid and foolishIn their discipline of delusion—their idol is wood!
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in Christ.
But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness;
for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,Nor faint when you are reproved by Him;

Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.
